GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS ON DECEMBER 15, 2017
The Department is making concerted efforts to improve quality of education
by measuring learning outcomes through ‘six-monthly assessments’ (6MA) of the grade 3
students in Government and PEF schools, across Punjab,

‘SIX-MONTHLY ASSESSMENT IN 250 GOVT. SCHOOLS
Six-monthly assessment of Grade 3 students in approximately 250 selected
Government schools is scheduled on December 14, 2017. This test will take place in Urdu,
Mathematics and English subjects:

CEOs are required to take the assessment test seriously and should motivate
the teachers to prepare Grade 3 students for the test.
Test will be conducted by AEOs and MEAs jointly. TAMO / Roadmap Team
representatives wil train the AEOs and MEAs for smooth conduct of assessment
test in selected Government schools. MEAs will be required to fil an online audit
form in every school
AEOs will not be allowed to conduct test in their own markaz. CEOs are
requested to coordinate with respective DFC to schedule training
Test papers will be sent to the DMO Offices, who will be responsible for the
delivery of test papers to schools on the test date. CEOs (DEA), DEOs. DDEOs
‘and DMOs shall pay surprise visits to schools during the test hours.
The representatives of the Chief Ministers Roadmap Team and MEAs will
submit observations regarding smooth conduct of the exam
CEOs (DEA) will be required to nominate 3 to 4 teachers in their Districts, who
will be responsible for the paper marking and data entry of results. This activity
will occur on given datesilocation for each District and will be monitored by
FCs
UNIVERSAL LITNUM ASSESSMENT IN ALL SCHOOLS
Universal LitNum Assessment will be conducted on all schools through
Weekly LitNum hour on December 15, 2017. This test will take place in Urdu, Mathematics
and English subjects in grade 3 and will have the same format as 6MA.4,
a) Purpose of this assessment is to create awareness among all students, teachers
and district officials regarding the quality challenge and give teachers access to
granular class level data to inform teaching practices.
b) All CEOs (DEA) will ensure that the test takes place in all schools during the
LitNum hour on December 15.
c) Soft copy of the test paper and instructions will be provided to CEOs in the first
week of December by DFCs and will also be uploaded on SIS portal. CEOs to
make sure that all the schools get the instructions and the test papers printed
through school NSB funds.
4) Instructions will contain details on the conduct of test, paper marking and usage
of results to inform teaching practice. OFCs will brief the ODEOs and AEOs on
how to use the instructions.
e) AEOs, DDEOs, DEOs and CEOs will be required to make surprise visits on
December 15 to make sure all schools have made arrangements for the test
conduct. DDEOs and AEOs will be responsible for the smooth conduct of the
test in their tehsils and marakaz.
Director Public Instruction (SE/EE) is requested to follow up and submit
compliance report to the department.
