Objectives:

To acquaint the students with the nature of various manifestations of psychological disorders. The course includes anxiety disorders, personality disorders,
mood disorders and schizophrenia to develop understanding of various psychological disorders and their treatment.

INTRODUCTION TO PSYCHOPATHOLOGY

Abnormality-Definition and elements, Classification system: DSM-5, Differences between DSM-IV-TR and DSM-5. Theoretical Perspectives- Biological,
Psychoanalysis, Behavior and Cognitive

UNIT-2

PANIC AND ANXIETY DISORDERS

Criteria and Etiology: Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Phobias and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder.

UNIT-3

MOOD DISORDERS

Criteria and Etiology: Unipolar Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Cyclothymia and Dysthymic Disorder

UNIT-4

PERSONALITY DISORDERS AND SCHIZOPHRENIA

Criteria of Paranoid, Histrionic, Narcissistic, Antisocial Personality Disorder And Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder. Schizophrenia-

TREATMENT APPROACHES
