Discuss with your groupmates, and think about what is pacing control in speech. And to what
extent can they influence the effectiveness of your speech?

1. Think about the video clip you watched, what did you notice? Discuss with your group
the impact of pacing on the overall delivery and audience engagement.

2. Summarize the tips about speech pacing you can use in your speech.

Part III:
Work with your pair, you will be assigned a short paragraph. Try to practice emphasizing
different words to deliver different meanings and emotions. After you practice, please discuss
with your pair about different interpretations and the impact of emphasis on the audience.
