BIOGRAPHY PRINCE ANTASARI

As a young man his name is Inu Kartapati Gusti. Mrs. Prince Antasari is Gusti Hadijah bint
Sultan Sulaiman. Prince's father was Prince Masohut Antasari (Mas'ud) son of Prince Amir.
Prince Amir is the son of Sultan Muhammad Aliuddin Aminullah failed ascended the throne in
1785. He was expelled by his godfather himself, Prince Nata, who with the support of the Dutch
proclaimed himself as Sultan Tahmidullah II Prince Antasari had 3 sons and 8 daughters. Prince
Antasari has a younger sister named Queen Antasari aka Queen of Sultan Abdul Rahman, who
married Sultan Abdurrahman bin Sultan Adam Young but die first before giving descent.

As a prince, he was concerned about the chaos witnessed Sultanate of Banjar for the intervention
of the Dutch empire bigger. The popular movements arise in the interior of Banjar. Prince
Antasari was sent to investigate the movements of the people who are churning.

He died of lung disease and smallpox in the inland river Barito, Central Kalimantan. Its skeleton
was moved to Banjarmasin and reburied in Banjar War Cemetery North Banjarmasin,
Banjarmasin. The struggle was continued by his son Sultan Muhammad Seman and
Mangkubumi Panembahan Young (Prince Mohammed Said), and his grandson Prince
Perbatasari (Sultan Muda) and Queen Zaleha.
On March 14, 1862, he was named as the top government leaders in the Sultanate of Banjar
(Sultan Banjar) with the title of the Faithful before Panembahan Amiruddin Khalifatul Dayak
chiefs and dukes (governor) ruler of Upper Hamlet, the Kapuas and Kahayan Surapati Hero /
Hero Yang Pati Jaya Raja.

After Sultan Hidayatullah Dutch cheated by first holding the Queen Siti (mother of Prince
Hidayatullah) and then exiled to Cianjur, the struggle of the people of Banjar also proceed by
Prince Antasari. As one of the leaders of the people as well as the dedication of the heir to the
Sultanate of Banjar cousin. To strengthen his position as supreme leader of the Muslim struggle
in the northern part of Banjar (Teweh Estuary and vicinity), then on March 14, 1862, to coincide
with the 13th of Ramadan 1278 Hijri, starting with the call:

"Living for God and die for God!"

Antasari to "Panembahan Amiruddin Khalifatul Faithful", that government leaders, warlords and
religious leaders supreme.

There is no reason for Prince Antasari to stop fighting, he should accept the position entrusted to
him by Prince Hidayatullah and determined to carry out their duties with utmost sense of
responsibility to God and people.

After struggling in the midst of the people, Prince Antasari later died in the midst of his troops
without ever giving up, caught, let alone be fooled by the gentle persuasion Netherlands, on
October 11, 1862 in the Land of Kampong Bayan Begok, Sampirang, at the age of approximately
75 years. Before his death, he was exposed to lung disease and smallpox he suffered after the
battle at the foot of Mount Bagantung, Tundakan.Perjuangannya continued by his son named
Muhammad Seman.

After being buried for approximately 91 years at the headwaters of the Barito river, the will of
the people of Banjar and family consent, on 11 November 1958 Prince Antasari removal of

Prince Antasari has been awarded the title of National Hero and independence by the
Government of the Republic of Indonesia by Decree No.. 06/TK/1968 in Jakarta, dated March
27, 1968. Antasari name immortalized on Korem 101/Antasari and the nickname for the South
Kalimantan Earth Antasari. Then to introduce P. Antasari to the national community, the
Government through the Bank Indonesia (BI) has been printed and perpetuate the names and
pictures of Prince Antasari in banknote par value of Rp 2,000.
