Hi my name is Sofia Francesconi and I am a Freshman majoring in elementary

education with a focus in special education, my journey into this field has a deep and
personal connection. When I was in 2nd grade, I lost my mom, which was a challenging
and life-altering experience for me. During that time, my teachers played a significant
role in helping me adjust to my new life. Their support and guidance had a profound
impact on me, and it was during those early years that my passion for teaching began to
grow because I realized I wanted to make an impact in other students' lives like mine
have to me.

My decision to specialize in special education was confirmed when I became a special

needs buddy at my church. Over the past five years, I have had the privilege of teaching
Sunday school to children with special needs. There is nothing that brings me more joy
than seeing these incredible kids conquer the challenges of daily life and thrive in their
own unique ways.

My faith and involvement in my church are central to who I am. It's the cornerstone of
my values and beliefs, and it guides me in everything I do. Being part of a supportive
church community has also provided me with valuable opportunities to make a positive
impact on the lives of others.

In addition to my passion for teaching and my commitment to my faith, I have a love for
traveling. Whenever I get the chance, I enjoy exploring new places, and experiencing
different cultures. Traveling has taught me valuable lessons about diversity, empathy,
and the beauty of our world.

When it comes to Technology, I believe it can be a powerful and important tool for
research and learning. However, I also think that it should not be the main way students
learn. Not everyone has equal access to technology, and it can be dangerous,
especially for younger individuals who may not fully understand its potential risks. I
believe in a balanced approach to education that incorporates technology where
appropriate but also values traditional methods and in-person interactions.

Overall my life is deeply rooted in my personal experiences, faith, and a belief in the
importance of balanced and inclusive education.
