Trsat – speaking part

Perched on a hill overlooking Rijeka in Croatia, Trsat is a special place with a long history. At
the center of it all is Trsat Castle, standing tall since Roman times. Built in the 13th century, it
has seen a lot, from protecting against attacks to being a fancy home for important people.
The castle's old-fashioned look gives you a peek into Croatia's past.

Right next to the castle is the Shrine of Our Lady of Trsat, a holy spot that has been around
since the 15th century. It's a special place for people to connect with their faith. The shrine
has a church and a monastery filled with religious art, creating a peaceful atmosphere.

Connecting the lower part of Rijeka to Trsat is the Trsat Stairway, built in the 16th century.
Imagine 561 steps that wind up the hill. It's not just a climb; it's like going on a journey. As
you go up, you get a fantastic view of Rijeka and the Kvarner Bay.

Trsat's landmarks aren't just old buildings; they're like time machines telling stories of the
past. The castle, shrine, and stairway show how strong and creative people were back then.
Visiting Trsat is like traveling through history, where you can feel the stories in the streets
and walls.

Why should you visit? Well, besides being cool old buildings, Trsat lets you discover the
history that made the place what it is. The castle shows how people lived in the old days, the
shrine is a peaceful place to think, and the stairway challenges you to climb up and see
amazing views.

Trsat also lets you see the beautiful scenery of Rijeka and the Adriatic Sea. It's not just about
the old stuff; it's a mix of history, culture, and nature. Whether you love history, want a
peaceful place to visit, or just enjoy great views, Trsat is ready to welcome you.

In a nutshell, Trsat is a living history book of Croatia. Visiting it is a chance to feel the heart
of Croatia, where old and new come together perfectly.
