In a group of 2 or 3 students, you are required to investigate and analyze

| PART A: SIMULATION
1) Construct the circuit as shown in Figure 1 using Multisim software

2) DC Analysis:
Apply power supply to the circuit (DC supply only, Vec = 15V). Using either DC multimeters or
DC voltage / current probes, measure the following DC parameters:

3) Record the measurement values inside Table 3 in the Result section.

20f124) AC Analysis (Frequency Response):
Apply 50 mVpea, 10 Hz sinusoidal signal to the input of the amplifier. Connect Bode Plotter to
the circuit as shown in Figure 3,

5) Click Run, then double click the Bode Plotter. Adjust the Bode Plotter properties as in Figure 4.

6) Click View >> Grapher. Reverse the background to white colour.
7) Turn On cursors, then adjust cursors’ position to obtain cut-off frequencies (fet and fe)
8) Measure the roll-off rate at fo: and fox. Record the results inside Table 5 in the Result section.

1) Referring to the DC parameters measurement result from Part A (Simulation), calculate current
gain value, B. Hint: (8 = »
2) Calculate the following parameters in Table 1 using the DC and AC (small signal) analysis
methods for the Common-Emitter BJT amplifier circuit shown in Figure 1. Use 6 value obtained
from step 1. Show your calculation steps clearty.

4of12PART C: PRACTICAL MEASUREMENT
1) Construct the circuit as shown in Figure 1 on a breadboard.
2) DC Analysis:
Repeat step 2 in Part A to obtain DC parameters measurement.
Record the measurement results inside Table 3 in the Result section.
3) AC Analysis (Frequency Response):
Apply 50 mVipex) sinusoidal signal to the input of the amplifier. Adjust the input frequency
according to Table 2 and measure the Output Voltage, Vauw) using oscilloscope.
Calculate Voltage Gain, Ay and Ay (4B) for each input frequency.
