Praying Mantis

The praying mantis holds his arms in front of him and sits very still while he waits patiently
for bugs to come close. Then—SNATCH!—he grabs his food as it flies by!
He has big eyes to help him see all around.
1
Cricket

The cricket rubs his wings together to make a loud noise that sounds just like
his name: Crick-it! Crick-it!
His ears are not on his head like ours are—crickets have ears on their knees!
2
Firefly

Firefly beetles make a bright, flashing light to send messages to each other.
Baby fireflies, called larvae, glow in the dark to tell other animals
not to eat them.
