Part – A 7 * 2 = 14

1. Define control system and their types.

2. State Kirchoff’s voltage law.
3. Define transfer function.
4. State the overall gain in the Mason’s gain formula?
5. What is block diagram what are the basic components of block diagram.
6. Define damping ratio.
7. What is routh stability criterion?

Part – B 3 * 12= 36
(Answer any three)
1. Write the differential equation governing the mechanical rotational system shown
in the fig. draw the torque-voltage and torque-current electrical analogous circuits
and verify by writing mesh and node equations.

2. Convert the block diagram to signal flow graph and determine the transfer
function using Mason’s gain formula.
3. Sketch the bode plot for the following transfer function and phase margin and
gain margin.

4. Use the routh stability criterion to determine the location of roots on the s-plane
and hence the stability for the system represented by the characteristics equation

S6 + S5 + 3S4 + 3S3 + 3S2 + 2S+ 1 = 0
