Pharmacokinetics
Pharmacokinetics refers to the way in which the body
interacts with a particular foreign substance or chemical
following its administration. This involves examining how
the substance is absorbed and distributed within the body,
as well as the alterations it undergoes through metabolic
processes facilitated by enzymes. Additionally,
pharmacokinetics investigates the effects and pathways
through which the body eliminates the metabolites of the
drug.
Biopharmaceutics
Biopharmaceutics refers to the examination of the
characteristics of drugs, both in terms of their physical and
chemical properties, as well as their appropriate
administration in relation to the timing, duration, and
strength of their effects. Alternatively, it can be described
as the investigation of how the physicochemical properties
of a drug and its formulation impact the availability of the
drug within the body, ultimately influencing its ability to
produce the desired therapeutic outcome.
