BONAPARTE?

Napoleon’s
Background
Napoleon’s family was of Italian origin. His
Tuscan noble family emigrated to Corsica in
the 16th century and his father, Carlo Mario di
Buonaparte and his mother, Maria Letizia
Ramolino continued a home called “Casa
Buonaparte”, now called “Maison de
Buonaparte”. That was Napoleon’s birthplace
when he was born on the 15th August of
1769, making himself the fourth child and
third son of the family. Napoleon was 9 when
he enrolled at a religious school in Autun in
January 1779 and he was 10 when he started
learning how to speak French. Even though
Napoleon fluently spoke french with his
Corsican accident, but never knew how to
spell correctly in french. Napoleon led the
junior kids at the school to victory against the
senior students and showed leadership
abilities with great triumph.
Napoleon’s
accomplishments
Napoleon became the commander of the
French Army in 1796, where he
demonstrated swift, rapid movements to his
enemies, advanced 80 miles into Austria
and made his enemies surrender. He
overthrew the Directory in 1799, and
became the first consul for life. He
improved the banking and educational
systems, supported the arts, improved the
relations with France and the pope and
centralized the government. A big
accomplishment he made was the creation
of the Napoleonic Code, which helped
improvise the French legal system, and
Pope Pius VII nominated him as the
consecrated empire of France in Notre-
Dame Cathedral on December 2.

Exile of Napoleon
Napoleon defeated the Prussians, who demanded war in September 1806,
at Jena and Auerstädton October 14, and the Russians at Friedland on June
14, 1807. He also won the Battle of Borodino with 60,000 soldiers led to
Russia to win the battle of Borodino, but he had to retreat from Moscow
with horrible damages. With his enemies weakened, he lost the battle with
his enemies who defeated him at the Battle of Leipzig (1813), and was
forced to be exiled to the island of Elba. He escaped the Island of Elba but
got sent back while he was trying to rebuild his empire, but he lost the
Battle of Waterloo, getting exiled one more time to South Atlantic island of
Saint Helena, where he died in 1821.
