PREFACE
The industrial growth is very important factor affecting the health of any economy. The Primary objective of practical studies in M.B.A course is to develop effective managers. The growth of economy depends upon skilled managers M.B.A course fulfills this need. Management is the center point of every organization. Management training remains incomplete without practically understanding real management problem. Not only theoretical knowledge is required but also practical knowledge is most required and most important. The practical training in the form of industrial visit at M.B.A develops awareness about real management environment.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Ratnamani Metals & Tubes Limited is a multi-product company providing total piping solutions to a diverse range of industries. The company produces a range of stainless steel tubes and pipes in construction, such as stainless steel seamless tubes and pipes, stainless steel welded tubes and pipes, and large diametes electric fusion welded (EFW) stainless steel pipes. The company caters to sector, such as oil and gas refineries, petrochemicals, process industries, power plants, and water distribution. It also manufactures submerged arc welded (SAW) pipes. It has also developed titanium tubes for application in power industry. Ratnamani manufactures carbon steel pipes, such as highfrequency welded (HFW) pipes and submerged arc welded (SAW) pipes. Since its inception in 1985, accepting challenges and ensuring customers delight has been the hallmark of Ratnamani. In just two decade, Ratnamani has grown to become a multi-product, multi location public limited company providing total piping solutions to a diverse range of industries.

Ratnamanis manufacturing facilities employ state of the technology to produce a wide range of stainless steel welded / seamless tubes & pipes and carbon steel welded pipes. The company caters to the niche markets of almost all the emerging sectors like oil and gas, refineries, petrochemicals, process industries, power plant and water distribution.

The company was incorporated on 15th September, 1983 as a small scale industrial under the name Of Ratnamani metals & Tubes pvt.ltd. It became a deemed public company with effect from 1-7-1989 by the virtue of he previsions of section 43a of the act. In 1993 company has listed on Mumbai & in 1997 APISL monogramming Licenses Company has got Ratnamani follows a total quality approach & its products conform to the highest international standards. The companys credo prosperity through performance has ensure not only strong clientele but also diversified clientele base comprising of major public, private and joint stock companies, in respective segment. Another small scale unit under the name of tartnamani tube industries pvt. Ltd. Was set up by the same promoters in the year 1985, which also became a deemed

public company w.e.f. 1-7-1990 by virtue of the previsions of section 43a of the aet. At the annual general meeting held on 18-7-1992 special resolution was passed deleting the restrictions mentioned in section 3 of the aet. Both the companies were converted into medium scale units through implementation expansion programmed within 2-3 years from the date of establishment and were awarded cob industrial license no. IL /41(89) dated 7-7-1989 and IL /71(91) dated 12-2-1992. As per the order of Honble high court of Gujarat dated 24/12/1991 m/s. Ratnamani tube industries limited amalgamated with Ratnamani metals & tubes limited with effect from 1-4-1991 consequently 5 equity shares of Rs. 100/each full paid up were allotted to the shareholders of Ratnamani tube industries limited for every two quity sharea of rs. 70/- each fully paid up held by them. Accordingly 445,200 equity shares of rs. 10/- each fully paid up were issued to the shareholders of RTil Ratnamani metal & tubes limited now has an installed capacity of 3000 m.t. on three shift basis and holds industrial licences as mentioned elsewhere in the prospectus.

The mission of the Ratnamani is to gear up infrastructure to meet the requirements of the core sector industries. The aim of the Ratnamani is to attain paramount market position for its distinguished products. The mission of the Ratnamani is t meet the requirements of customers by acquiring and developing modern technologies processes and resources. The other mission of the Ratnamani is to increase value for its stake holders.

The company boats of a strong growth record and its annual revenues are in excess of Rs. 3.5 billion (USP 76 million). HUMAN RESOURCEMANAGEMENT
2.1 Recruitment and Selection Recruitment: Recruitment is the process of finding and attracting capable applicant for employment. The process begins when new recruits are sought and ends when their applications are submitted. The result is a pool of applicant from which new employees are selected. Ratnamani Company uses two types of sources for recruitment. (1) Internal Source:-

Most of Ratnamani uses Internal source that it recruits the friends and relatives of present employees. (2) External Sorce:-

If internal sources Are not satisfied then company uses external source that is recruit the employees through newspaper advertisement and job portals. Ratnamani Company also recruits the employees through short list method. Selection:Selection is the process of differentiating between applicants in order to identify those with a greater like hood of success in a job. The selection of an employees is done in the

Ratnamani by the personal interview which conduct by committee it also consider the following. (1) Group Discussion (2) Written Exam The final selection of the employees is done by the final ratting given by considering the view of all panel members.

2.2 Types of Interviews Basically in all companies the various types of interviews are same. The Ratnamani preferred following types of interviews. (1) (2) (3) (4) Personal Interview Panel Interview Telephonic Interview Video Conferencing (Only for very senior positions)

2.3 Promotion & Training Promotion:Promotion means an improvement in pay, prestige and responsibilities of an employee within his/her organization. Promotion is given to employees in Ratnamani on the basic of performance of the employees. It is not give the promotion on the basis of experience and age. Usually performance appraisal is conducted annually where the assessment of an employees performance is assessed by his/her department head and reviewed by the unit head. Employees are given ranked according to their performance as A, B, C or D. Performance has linked with increments and promotion.

Training:Training is increasing individuals skills for doing a particular task. The company gives internal training to their employees. Training is also given by Job Rotation. Usually, Training period is 6 months to 1 year in the company. Training is also conducted by external person and international person. 2.4 Remuneration and Incentives:Remuneration:Ratnamani Company paid Rs.5, 000 per month as a wages to their employees. The company paid Rs.15, 000 salary to their highes level managers. per month as a

Incentives:An incentive is paid on the performance of employees. Incentives are different for executives. Staff and workess in Ratnamani Company.

2.5 Safety Measure:13

The Ratnamani Company take safety seriously and sincerely concerned for the health. It provides shoes, Helmet, goggles, Glous Masks to employees. The companies also provide safety team. Moreover the companies make distance in each machines. The company has contact with government if highes accidents take place.

2.6 Industrial Relation : The company has harmonious industrial relations. Top management to make the environment more healthy and peaceful. The company has a joint committee management of works. As a result, the companys industrial relations remained cordial and friendship relation at all the plants through out the year.

2.7 Welfare Programme:Ratnamani has following welfare programme for employees. (1) Personal Accident Policy (2) Research and Development Programme (3) Medical Policy (4) Loans under different category likely executive, staff and workers.

CONCLUSION
Company has proper work force and all the employees are working with efficient and fruitful managers by keeping the goals of the organization into accounts. Ratnamani draws its strength from technical excellence and highly trained motivated manpower. The companys unflinching commitment to delight customers has ensured client loyalty. Company also has strong relationship with owners of the company like share holders and other companies so its management is free to take light and beneficial decisions at any time. Moreover company is expanding its business by expanding its activities. Companys economy is also sound. At last my personal opinion is that the company has beneficial opportunities and bright future for the coming years.
