    They are more massive in size than the beta particles and alpha particles have 2 more protons than the beta

    particles.

    It states that the atom is made up of vacuum which is why the alpha particles go through it.

    Thats because the atom contains a nucleus in the centre.


    The particles either reflect back they can deflect after reaching the nucleus.
