8.2 8.2 Mo. 20305 s34EeC MAINTENANCE OF cazo?/cis107 MUX ] | Scope This section describes errar information interpretation of the RAID system (CB10T, C18107 MUX) (when the DF main unit or the maintenance port of CBLOT is used), methods of recavery, and the replacement of service parts. (2) the rotary switch of FCPU is set to "58", and the system ds started - 265 = No. 20305-59456 8.3 Method of Checking the State of the RALD System ‘The DF system is started as usual, (BSD MATNTENANGE] in the maintenance mode is started, and the verification of the state of RAID, and the eelf-test in C#i0 are carried ont (Once the system is in this mode, RAID will be detached fron the system and it will go into the idle state.) Caution: Self-test can only be performed when RAID is "REDUNDANT" (in the normal state). Do not perform in the "Nen-Redundant" mode or in the ‘Array Failing" mode. If, luwever, self-test is performed in these modes, rectart the eyetem 8.3.1 Checking of the state of KALD Once [HSD MAINTENANCE] is started, the system will perform verification of the etate of RAID automatically. The following are the four main states of RAID: (A) Normal state (B) “NON-REDUNDANT state (state where abnormalities occur in one of the Five disk drive unite, and a parity check cannot be performed) (C) "ARRAY FAILING? otate (state where disabling sbnormalities occur dn two or more of the five disk drive waits) (D) Geourzence of other errors Display examples of the states are shown below. This message is displayed from starting until reset to ready (During this period, the system is ‘Not Ready’.) Operational Hormal state (State where the system has started normally) Formatting Formatting is taking place. (This operation reconstructs the lost data of the replaced drive unit from the other four drives.) Hon Redundant Array Failing This indicates Ul one ut of the Five disk deiwe unite is in the shutdown state. > Check the error status of the drive using ‘Display Entue Statistics” uf the maintenance port Lo identify the drive in which a shutdown has occurred, and to implement appropriate countermeasures. Indicates that two or more of the five disk drive units are in the chutdown otate. > Check the error status of the drive using "Display Error Statistics" of the maintenance port to identify the drive in which a shutdown has occurred, and to implement appropriate countermeasures. However, since C1810T MUX does not have a maintenance port, the procedures described in this subsection are not relevant to it, Confirmation fer C1@L0T MUX can only be carried out up to the verification procedures described in subsections 8.3 and 8.4 ‘The usage of the maintenanre port, the statue at the time of typical error states, and the required countermeasures are shawn below. 8.5.1 Usage of maintenance port (1) Preparation The following items should be prepared. (a) The disk must be formatted in order to map out the locations of the defects when defects occur mostly in a specific drive and the number of real-time corrections by the parity disk increases sharply due to software exrore {b) When a drive is replaced or sent for repair, format the replacement drive if it has not been formatted. (c) When the format information for the logical drive (5 drives) is destroyed, perform formatting. Ifthe logical drive is formatted, all the data inside the drive will disappear.
