Over the course of this semester, I have become a more analytical writer. I have learned

how to evaluate other people’s arguments, conduct research, and formulate my own arguments. I

continue to reflect on writing overall as a process. I have learned about major writing strategies

writers often use to analyze a text or situation and now I can make a convincing argument using

them. During this semester I have conducted a lot of research and I have learned to assess

arguments and sources I have encountered online, through directed readings, as well as through

library searches for academic and popular publications. I have incorporated quoted material

effectively and cited sources appropriately in my projects. I have composed a research-based

academic argument in my projects through various mediums and technologies by identifying,

analyzing, evaluating, and synthesizing sources, which included secondary sources in my Profile

and Exposé.

In the past my writing goals have been to use writing to express myself, I can do that now

and I can proudly say I have achieved this goal. Currently, my writing is in a good place, some

goals I have for myself are to find a deeper passion for writing as well as to become a quicker

writer. In the future, I hope to figure out what career I want to pursue and learn the best way to

apply my writing to the requirements for that.

I have learned how to analyze new situations and respond to them adequately. Through

this semester I have become a flexible writer. The lessons I learned in this class can be useful to
me in the future in so many ways, no matter what I do or where I go, I will need to communicate

through writing. By completing this course, I have learned so much about how to utilize my

writing skills and can apply them to anything. My favorite text that we reviewed in class was

Eighner's “On Dumpster Diving” because I liked the insight it gave the reader into the life of

someone who is homeless, I still think about it a lot.
