We take great pride and pleasure in announcing the E’nANC 2023 (Explore and
Appraise Nutrition in Critical Care) which is scheduled for 8th and 9th December 2023
at SIMS Hospital, Chennai.

The term “Critical Care” conjures up images of ‘tubes’ and ‘lines’, sophisticated
monitors, various diagnostics and therapeutics. Once the flurry of imminent issues
are sorted out, comes the query to the mind - “what/ how do I feed the patient?”

Nutrition in Critical Care is no longer a sideline player but one of the main
therapeutic arms - it is no more ‘Nutritional Support’- rather it is ‘Nutrition therapy’!

Critical illness is wrought with various physiometabolic changes which increase

the risk of malnutrition of sorts. This in turn has an impact on patient outcome.
Nutritional needs vary with the phase of critical illness and the organ systems
involved in the disease process. The impact of gut pathobiome on the trajectory
of the critical illness is increasingly being recognized as something to reckon with!

This one day conference and workshop aim to provide a glimpse into the intricacies
involved in Nutrition therapy and the multifaceted approach needed, in making it
a personalized nutrition - for Physicians, Dietitians as well as Nurses.
