Flow down, cold rivulet, to the sea,

Thy tribute wave deliver:

Flow, softly flow, by lawn and lea,


(Flow, soft-lee flow, bahy lawn and lee,)
A rivulet then a river:
(A rivi-yoo-let then a rih-ver:)
Nowhere by thee my steps shall be
(Now-whair bahy thee my steps shal bi,)

But here will sigh thine alder tree


(But heer wil sy thee-n al-der tree)
And here thine aspen shiver;
(And heer thain as-pen shi-vuhr;)

A thousand suns will stream on thee,
