Particular features of the Premium Collation Shrink Film include

• Downgauged film provides superior performance to a 15% thicker monolayer film
• Shrinkage provided by Alkathene LDD205 delivers a tight package with strong holding force
• Stiffness from Alkatane HDF995 in the sub-skin layers maintains handling of thinner film on the packaging line
• Toughness from Alkamax ML1810PS provides outstanding resistance to puncturing and impact
• Combination of Alkamax ML1810PS and Alkathene LDJ225 in skin layers with Alkatane HDF995 in sub-skin
layers provides excellent gloss and clarity
• High levels of slip and antiblock for ease of film handling

Shrink films are widely used for collating or bundling together multiple items for retail and distribution

Important properties for shrink films are:

• Shrinkage properties optimised to provide good holding force
• Toughness to avoid hole formation and tearing
• Stiffness for handling and precise film positioning on packaging line
• High gloss and clarity for retail packaging

Traditionally, collation shrink films have been produced on monolayer lines using LDPE as the major component,
with LLDPE or HDPE blended in as a minor component to provide more resistance to hole formation.

Sustainability benefits of co-extruded PE film

• Improved mechanical properties facilitate downgauging
• Multilayer films made from 100% PE are recyclable
