• I started my observationship on 13th July at Rajendra institute of medical
science at Mumbai.. It was a great experience to learn and acquire clinical
knowledge there.

• I got to learn about the OUTPATIENT DEPARTMENT and it’s management.

• I gained many skills during this journey such as
measuring blood pressure ; checking pulse
rate; giving IV injections ; cannula etc.

• I would like to thank Dr.Shilpa jain and the

medical staff of the hospital for helping me
gain clinical knowledge .

Measuring blood pressure with the help

of sphygmomanometer.

Connect the cuff tubing to the

sphygmomanometer tubing and
secure. Rest the patient's arm on a surface
that is level with their arm.
Place the stethoscope over the brachial
artery (in the bend of the elbow) and listen to
the pulse .
Pump up the cuff slowly and listen
for when the pulse disappears.
Isotonic crystalline solutions are typically given
for intravascular repletion during shock and
hypovolemia.

Patients with dehydration and adequate

circulatory volume typically have a free water
deficit, and hypotonic solutions (eg, 5% dextrose in water, 0.45% saline) are used.
Cannula

A cannula is a thin tube that doctors insert

into a person's body cavity, such as their
nose, or into a vein. Doctors use them to
drain fluid , administer medications or
provide oxygen.
Surgery ~HYSTERECTOMY .
