Look at the countermeasure (solution) and decide which Dirty Dozen factor it can
apply to. Make sure you explain why you chose your answer.

1. When returning to work, after an interruption, it is a good idea to start at least
three steps back.

2. Sleeping regularly, eating well and exercising are effective ways to


prevent this.

3. Use simple breathing and relaxation techniques.

4. Discuss in detail who will do what.


5. Participate in training, be a lifelong learner.

6. Never sign for anything you didn’t do or check yourself.

7. Conduct regular briefings.

8. Stay calm and express your opinion with confidence.

9. Order and stock necessary tools, parts and equipment.

10. Safety first! Be assertive and know where to draw the line.

11. Think before you act and train yourself to look for obvious hazards.
12. Do not accept negative norms as acceptable
practice.
