Medical Nutrition Therapy for Critical Care Conditions

Last week you have learned about about infections, some communicable diseases
This week, you will learn about critical care conditions and their nutritional management.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the week, you should be able to:

a. discuss the physiological and biochemical changes in critical care conditions


that influence a patient’s nutritional needs;
b. formulate an individualized nutrition care plan; and,
c. evaluate modified diets with due consideration to the principles of dietary
management.
