Steps to Set Up your Profile

Social media getting very popular and working from home getting a necessary work option, professional connection social
platform LinkedIn is getting exponential attention as compared to earlier times. It has become significant to update your
profile on it to convey a more aware, learned professional image who is keeping update with time. Editing your LinkedIn
is a very easy process as the professional network platform is very user friendly, but it can be a landmark step that can
give you an edge on being viewed by a prospective employer.

Register at LinkedIn. : Visit www.LinkedIn.com, create an account with your basic credentials like Recent Job Title,
Employment Type, Most Recent Company and Industry. Now log in with your username and password.

The “Me” tab: This is the sixth tab from left after the search option. Here you can update the latest pertinent
professional information about yourself. Click on it and view your profile, clicking on the specific pen shaped icon would
let you edit that particular section.

Add Profile Section: Clicking on this section would further open a list of areas which you can update with your
professional details to complete your LinkedIn Profile. There are majorly 8 sections under the 3 main headings namely
Intro, About, Featured, Background, Skills, Accomplishments, Additional Information and Supported Languages. They
further have subsections, which we would discuss gradually as we update the profile for each section. The more
information you update, the more strengthened your profile becomes on LinkedIn.

Add Resume Draft: The following are the steps to upload the resume, Open the profile page as suggested above and
then click on the “More” Section, after this click on the “Build a Resume” option to upload the resume.
