A reinforced concrete bridge pier is to be constructed on a pile foundation consisting

of vertical and batter cast in place concrete piles. Piles have 700 mm diameter and
1250 kN axial load bearing capacity safely. Piles can also take 65 kN horizontal loads.
Use AASHTO load groups and determine:

a. Number and spacing of vertical piles

b. Number, spacing and slops of batter piles if required.
