Grading system
In this document, we put information regarding the grading system of the course BK10A6101 Technical Doc-
umentation and 3D Modeling.
Based on feedback from previous years, we've made adjustments to our grading system. We're hopeful that
this year will be as seamless as possible. If you encounter any issues or have questions, please reach out to the
teaching staff; we're here to assist and provide guidance.
This year our updated grading system includes artificial intelligence techniques in assessing the peer-review
process. As a result, there might be minor differences in grades for students within the same group. This is
because group work is assessed by different students. However, we're confident these discrepancies won't
significantly impact the final grades. To maintain fairness, teachers will routinely review and verify grades
throughout the course, with a particular focus at the end of the term.
The grade of the course and corresponding points can be seen in Table 1.
Table 1. Grade of the course.
The points in each item are shown in Table 3. As for more detailed grading system, please check under each
exercise section.
Table 3. Points distribution in each exercise.
1
Item Points Brief
Individual Exercise 1 7 (from submission*) + 3 (from peer review**) Peer review
Individual Exercise 2 7 (from submission) + 3 (from peer review) Peer review
Individual Exercise 3 7 (from submission) + 3 (from peer review) Peer review
Individual Exercise 4 7 (from submission) + 3 (from peer review) Peer review
Group Exercise 1 15 Evaluated by teachers
Group Exercise 2 20 Evaluated by teachers
Oral examination 25 Evaluated by teachers
Total 100
*Submission Points: These reflect the quality of your work as judged by your peers. For instance, if three
classmates rate your work as 4, 5, and 3, your average score would be ( 4+5+3)/3=4 points. Teachers will
oversee this process to ensure fairness in grading.
**Peer Review Points: These points gauge the quality of your evaluations. As an example, if students A, B,
and C are reviewing the same work and student A awards 1 point while both students B and C award 5 points,
student A's rating will be considered lower. Again, teachers will monitor this process to guarantee grading
fairness.

Arviointijärjestelmä
Edellisiltä vuosilta saadun palautteen perusteella olemme uudistaneet arviointia. Toivomme, että tämä vuosi
sujuu mahdollisimman saumattomasti. Jos kohtaat ongelmia tai sinulla on kysyttävää, ota yhteyttä kurssin
opettajiin; olemme täällä auttamassa ja opastamassa.
Seuraavassa esitetään kunkin kohdan pistemäärät. Tarkempi arviointijärjestelmä on esitetty kunkin harjoituk-
sen kohdalla.
Kohta Pisteet Lyhyesti
Yksilötehtävä 1 7 (palautuksesta*) + 3 (vertaisarvioinnista**) Vertaisarviointi
Yksilötehtävä 2 7 (palautuksesta*) + 3 (vertaisarvioinnista**) Vertaisarviointi
3
Ryhmätyö 1 15 Opettajan arvio
Ryhmätyö 2 20 Opettajan arvio
Suullinen palautus 25 Opettajan arvio
Yhteensä 100
*Palautuksen pisteet: Nämä kuvastavat työsi laatua vertaistesi arvioimana. Jos esimerkiksi kolme luokkato-
veria arvioi työsi arvosanoilla 4, 5 ja 3, keskimääräinen pistemääräsi on (4+5+3)/3=4 pistettä. Opettajat val-
vovat tätä prosessia varmistaakseen arvosanojen oikeudenmukaisuuden.
**Vertaisarvionnin pisteet: Nämä pisteet mittaavat arvioidesi laatua vertaisarvioinnissa. Jos esimerkiksi
opiskelijat A, B ja C arvostelevat saman työn ja opiskelija A antaa 1 pisteen, kun taas opiskelijat B ja C antavat
molemmat 5 pistettä, opiskelijan A:n vertaisarvion arvosana katsotaan huonommaksi. Opettajat valvovat myös
tätä prosessia varmistaakseen arvosanojen oikeudenmukaisuuden.
