The above figure 1 and pdf document(4-1 Homework Activity Module Four - Context
Diagram - Kitchen Gadget) represent the context diagram of Kitchen Gadgets case study,
which depicts the process involved from the start, when a customer places an order till end,
when customer receives their order.
The Kitchen Gadget’s order system works in the following way:
1. The initiation phase of the system starts with the customer browsing the Kitchen
Gadget’s website and making an order for their desired items.
2. The system verifies for the availability of the item and sends a rejection message if the
item is out of stock.
3. When the system confirms the availability of the item, details of item or list of items
will be sent to the warehouse/store/inventory.
4. While the items are getting ready to be shipped from the warehouse, a billing
statement will be generated and will be sent through email to customer. A copy of
statement will be sent to the accounts department.
5. Customer makes payment for the items, when they receive the invoice. Once customer
clears the payment, Order for shipping will be sent to the warehouse.
6. Once the warehouse or inventory receives the order of shipping, the item will be
shipped to customer.
7. Once payment is made, the system deposits money into the bank, saves billing
information to accounts department and purchase information will be sent to sales
department to inform about the sales percentage.
Mini Case 3 – Decision Table
Big State University
We can categorize the enrollment eligibility criteria based on the following criteria:
 The student should complete the prerequisites, MIS 120 and MIS 222.
 Instructor has the authority to waive off one of the prerequisites.
 Students who do not fulfill the criteria will be rejected.

In this decision table, rules were combined from the figure 3. Once we combined the
above eligibility criteria, the requirement can be documented and can be developed into a
code.
