OPEN ENDED LAB

 OBJECTIVES:
 To perform statistical analysis on a dataset
 Perform univariate and bivariate statistical analysis on the given data
set
 To make a geological model of a deposit
 To know the steps about the making the cross section of the
lithologies to show mineralized location
 To know the steps to make the solid geological model
 Constraining of the only those blocks that are valuable

 SOFTWARE
 EXCEL
 NETPRO MINE

 STATISTICAL ANALYSIS:
The analysis of the data by applying the
univariate, bivariate and multivariate parameters.
Where the data in the statisics is random and the sample points are
independent of each other. Considering any of two sample points they
are completely independent of each other.

 GEOSTATISTCS:
Geo statistics involves such a kind of data in
which the data sample points are random no matter but they are
depending oneach other somehow. The dependence between the sample
points is there in case of the data analysed in geostatistics.

 UNIVARIATE STATISTICAL PARAMETERS:
This type of data
consists of only one variable. The analysis of univariate data is thus the
simplest form of analysis since the information deals with only one
quantity that changes. It does not deal with causes or relationships and
the main purpose of the analysis is to describe the data and find patterns
that exist within it. Such as mean, variance, median, mode, skewness,
kurtosis, Maximum, Minimum, Range etc.

VARIANCE 35.88246612 =VAR.P(Q2:Q105)
Median 9.99 =MEDIAN(Q2:Q105)
Mode 0 =MODE(Q2:Q105)
Skewness 0.39296908 =SKEW(Q2:Q105)
kurtosis 1.205783549 =KURT(Q2:Q105)
Max 33.55 =MAX(Q2:Q105)
Min 0 =MIN(Q2:Q105)
Range 0 =T13-T14

 BIVARIATE PARAMETERS:
For bivariate parameterds we need
two variables such as correlation is any statistical relationship between
two random pvariables or bivariate data. It shows relationship or
deopendency between two vqariables, similarly for Variogram or covari-
iqance function we need two variables. But in this only one
variable(Tenor/chrome) is mentioned so we cant apply the bivariate
statuistiucal paremeters.

 GEOLOGICAL MODELLING:

PROCEDURE:
 Open the software (NetproMine) and select the Empty project option
then browse the name
 Then the data file is entering step to step
 1st collar file is entering by import the template of software
 Then match the column of the collar file just like bole id to bole id,
coordinates to coordinates
15/01/2023 Page 4
 After applying we get some information about the bore holes. It is
possible that some bore holes have the same coordinates (if two bore
holes are starting from the same positions but they are inclined and
they go inclined in different direction).
 Then in front of the collar file we get a tick mark after successful
uploading.
 2nd the survey file is entering then match the column. If there occur
any error like the dip is not match with dip so we deleted that row and
below we have entered dip in file column and column to be add and
then add it. So the one row is insert in which both are match
 Now we move for the next file which is Geology file this file contain
bole hole no and also the lithology
 Now match the row do the left column is equal to right. Here in the
file the lithology is represented by Geology
 Now click to ok and upload the geology file
 After the geology file we have to select the project parameter so click
the project parameters
 In a project parameter the properties is open in which the project
information is given
 So we select the metallic ore and in metallic ore we select the Chrome
because we are going to make a block estimation form the chrome
 Now after select the chrome we change the due date of project so we
can easily open and do change in over project
 Now we go to attributes in a project properties and we give attribute
to the chrome and select it in percentage but it does not work so we
apply alternative method.
 Now we go to lithology color and change the color of a Cr from
yellow to red now click ok
15/01/2023 Page 5
 Then we import the Sample file and match the column just like we for
the perceive file

 Then click ok and cross the create project file so we see the hole in
front in a screen

 Now we go to select the cross section and make a new group in cross
section

 Now we select automatically cross section and click the hole but
remember that we must go with the sequence order otherwise the
cross section is wrong

 Then click the right button and select solid model so the solid model
is created

 Now for making a block right click on the solid model cross section
tab and select blocking and a 20 by 20 by 10 blocks are made. Also
the block acceptance percent value is selected which will take only
those blocks which are this much percent in the geology. So this will
give very less number of blocks that will be outside the geology. Here
10 percent value is taken. If it is increased, then blocks will be
smaller.

 BLOCK GRADE ESTIMATION:
For the estimation of block grade
we have two methods one is inverse distance method and other one is
Kriging method. These two method are explaining below

 INVERSE DISTANCE METHOD:

The procedure for estimate the
block are given below:
PROCEDURE:
Before the estimation we need to do compositing. For
compositing right click on composite the new window open. In new
window we select the percentage, the length 0.5 meter, the percentage is
25 and click ok as result we get some statistical parameters that are
Attribute: chrome
Number of Samples : 89

15/01/2023 Page 7
Minimum : 2.330
Mean : 11.238
Median : 11.210
Maximum : 33.550
Variance : 25.045
Standard Deviation : 5.004
Skewness : 1.010
Lowness : 2.811
As we did the compositing for chrome now the data is ready for
estimation process.
For estimation we the inverse distance selected. Right click on Block the
new window opened and click on estimation in estimation again clicked
over Inverse Distance Method. Feed the data and press OK after
processing got the values of different block with different grade ranges
along with different colures as shown in below figure

After this we did filtering, because we are interested in some specific

grades so For filtering right click on Block and clicked on filter too. A
window open we allow the percentage. As we selected Tenor of greater
than 1% and less than 20% and pressed apply filter. After processing we
15/01/2023 Page 8
got the blocks which are having grade percentage greater than 1% and
less than 20%.

Over it we can draw an area too. For area clicked on Draw and select the
area in which you are interested. After selecting an area add another
filter and select inside boundary.

 KRIGING
 Open the Variogram and select the new Variogram and Variogram
are calculate it

15/01/2023 Page 9
 Now we change the nugget value to 0.55555

 Then we change the type of structure and range value

15/01/2023 Page 10
 Then we go to block and right click and select estimation and then
select kriging
 Then change the parameter to chrome and change the parameters and
click ok and then the kriging is done

 CONCLUSION:
In this labreport, we applied local estimation and geological
interpolation techniques in different softwares such as Ms Excel and
NetproMine respectively.
The aim of this lab report is to model the trend in a walker lake data set
