Safe working on electrical equipment and LOTO procedures must be adhered to at all times. When cycling the operator from the car top station, be aware of moving parts. Please ensure that an emergency stop button is within reach when operating a door cycle. Inside the DCSS dangerous high voltage (>310Vdc) is present at several components. The cover of the box must be closed before re-instating the supply! NOTE: With the cover removed there is a potential tripping hazard. When opening or re-opening the box wait at least 1 MINUTE after switching off the power to ensure the main capacitor is discharged! Dcss 5 Pocket Book DESCRIPTION The Door Control Sub-System DCSS 5 is a VF door drive with a unique hardware platform for the DO 2000 and the HSDS-VF applications. The DCSS 5 substitutes the DCSS 4 system. In order to guarantee spare part support for elevator systems equipped with a DCSS 4, a replacement kit is available for upgrading to a DCSSS. It is a direct replacement for a DCSS 4 Control Sub-System. The DCSS 5 is an element of the Modular Elevator Control System (MCS). lt interfaces as standard with the Motion Control Subsystem MCSS in a MCS311/411 LMCSS in a MCS 321/413 Limited Car Board (LCBII) in a MCS120/220/310/312 TCB for Gen2 eaee DCSS 5 is capable of operating in conjunction with the CAN-bus based Car-Bus. The advanced door drive represents a microprocessor controlled frequency inverter suitable for AC motor application. The proposed 3-phase inverter is the power interface between the microprocessor system and the motor. Ultra-fast switching technology, using a six pack module IGBT device, leads to noiseless operation and low current ripple due to the high switching frequency of above 15kHz. A suitable gear reduces the speed of the motor shaft according to the requirements of the mechanical environment. The control, profiles and Pulse Width Modulation generation are done by a microprocessor system. Position recognition, security and motor/inverter protection functions are incorporated. The microprocessor system establishes communication via a serial link (Multidrop protocol or CAN-Bus) with the MCSS or via discrete information lines/RSL communication with the LCBII, from where it receives its door commands. An incremental encoder providing two tracks with 4 segments and 500 pulses per revolution dictate accurate door control and positioning. All Inputs and Outputs are optically isolated and short circuit protected. To supply an alternate door an additional DCSS 5 system is required. pcss 5 Pocket Book POWER SUPPLY DCSS5 requires a single phase 230Vac supply. If a neutral is not available, the elevator controller must be fitted with an additional transformer. The supply is usually provided by connecting to the main switch panel in the machine room. An automatic cut-off for each door system, located in the elevator controller, protects the travelling cable and the DCSS5 box. ELECTRO-MAGNETIC NOISE AND INTERFERENCE The DCSS 5 fulfils the requirements for European codes, given in EN 12015/16 under the condition that: It has a closed cover and that this remains in position. The motor cable shield must be connected at the motor body and cable gland of the heat sink panel NOTE: in order to avoid interference of the encoder signal, use shielded encoder cables only and connect the shield to plug pin P3.5. CONTROLLER INTERFACE Depending on the main controller the user can configure the interface during the installation Set-up. The DCSS5 supports the following controller interfaces: 3Wire interface (LCBII or TCB) Seria! Multidrop Interface ((L) MCSS) Relay Interface (modernisation, additional Interface board is required) Can-Bus Interface (limited controller compatibility) Further and more detailed information about the controller interfaces can be found in the FCM DCSS5 Guidelines. A brief description of each is listed below. 3 WIRE INTERFACE The new discrete Interface is applicable for all Elevator systems based on the LCBII or the Traction Control Board TCB. The data is transmitted via the ASL link. The DCSS has three control inputs called ST1, ST2 and ST3 and two outputs DOS and DOL. All three control inputs have to be synchronized. 3-Wire Standard Interface: The OCSS has no information on the DOB status. The DOB signal is transmitted via RSL to the LCBI/TCB 3-Wire Extended Interface: (DOB-FAST): The DOB signal is connected directly to the DCSS and in parallel with RSL to the LCBII/TCB. The DCSS reacts immediately to an active DOB button. DcSS 5 Pocket Book MULTIDROP SERIAL INTERFACE Dependencies: The (L)MCSS needs to be equipped with the SW version GBA30085JAA or higher. The system parameters must be set to “Door Type = 2” (DCSS5). The DCSS 5 has 2 vacant inputs to read TDOB and TDCB. P5.4 is used for the TDOB signal and P5.5 for TOCS. If the car is in the door zone and the DCSS5 is set into SERVICE mode (TCI switch is set), the door can be commanded by pulling down the input signal to HL2. The door moves only with the slow INIT speed. With release of the button the door stops immediately. The DCSS and the MCSS are communicating via a serial link for the data transmission and an additional discrete signal, the /Safe to Open signal - /SO. A 4-pole connector P4, with two twisted wires establishes the serial communication between the (L)MCSS and the DCSS. Via this serial link commands and status information are transmitted. RELAY CONTROLLER INTERFACE (Interface Box Required) In Modernisation applications the DCSS has to communicate with a Relay Controller. For that special application an additional Interface Box is necessary to service the higher demand of input/outputs and to accommodate signal fevels from 48V to 220V. There are 6 relay outputs on the Interface board. Each Relay can be programmed by entering a position value. If the door passes this position the corresponding relay will be activated. The Interface Box is powered by 230Vac. CAN-BUS INTERFACE DCSS 5 supports the new CAN-Bus topology based on CAN-field bus version 2.0B. The maximum baudrate is 115kBd. Due to the fact that the CAN-Bus allows multi-point communication the DCSS software set-up is able to establish a passive line terminator. The CAN Bus technology was originally developed by the automobile industry, to speed up communications to the onboard computers. The communication tines are protected against common and differential disturbances. Dcss 5 Pocket Book CONNECTIONS MOTORCABLE AND POWER SUPPLY Ground connection of the plug pin P1.2 and the heat sink Mains supply 230Vac (1 phase, +10/-15%) at plug P1.1 and P1.3 Motor connection via ready-made shielded cable, Check that motor cable plug is fixed tight on the DCSS motor terminal Noise sensitive wires (signal cables, serial link connections) should not be installed close to, or in parallel to, any motor or power supply cables to avoid interference! All inputs to the DCSS5 are low active (are grounded to HL2), the REV signal will be grounded to HL2 if the reversal device is active. For that reason the logic of the I/O signal to the LCBII/TCB must be inverted by reprogramming the RS-address. Check the REV Signal State via the SVTOOL Monitor Menu. You need the REV inputs to the DCSS5 and LCBII/TCB to be uppercase when activated. DOB SIGNAL if the 3-Wire Extended Interface is to be connected, the DOB must be wired in a similar way as the REV signal (DCSS terminal: P5.9). When applying the 3-Wire Standard interface, connect the DOB signal to the RS board only. A logging, time stamp gives the relationship to present time. Time=1 First = 2, Last=3 TIME M32131 The System Time can be used as a reference for the History and Actua! Event logging times. This is very usetul when fault finding. The time is held permanently and is initialised with the last value before the DCSS was powered off. So this time represents the total time the DCSSS5 has had power to it. System Time: 10043b12m36 You can start the History-display from the first entry (M32132) of the event logging or from the last one (M32133). INTERFACE CHECK M324 This function starts a long interface check-sequence to test the discrete 3-wire interface. Use this feature if any communication problems between DCSS and LCBII/TCB occur. NOTE: ensure that the TCI switch is set, otherwise the check will fail! Every time a check begins, the DCSS sends a request to the LCB/TCB by setting both outputs active (DOL = OV, DOS = 24V). Within a time interval of 400ms the controller sends a pulse pattern to the DCSS. If the DCSS detects an error in any signal line it repeats the check sequence 3 times. If all attempts fail, the DCSS switches into locked mode. in this mode the DCSS ignores the received discrete interface commands. TCI must be set to inspection. Check Interface ? You will be prompted with this display <1>YES NO Upon completion of the interface check and if no errors are detected then this message is displayed: o plays Interface OK ! if an error occurs the DCSS enters a Locked State and displays the cause of the failed check. A list of these error messages can be seen on page 36 and also in the FCM Reference list. 15 Dcss 5 Pocket Book SYSTEM CONFIGURATION CHECK M325 In this menu the actual environment configuration, the motor type, door width and interface type etc, is displayed on the SVT. ADAM stands for Advanced Diagnosis and Maintenance Tool. This is a PC Window based software tool, where the PC communicates with the DCSS via the serial link interface (Multidrop or CAN Bus). To connect the PC with the DCSS, the DCSS must reboot and has to receive an initialisation string from the PC, otherwise the DCSS re- boots using the normal mode. If the systems are connected the following features are available: On Board reprogramming of the DCSS - software download Load second native language for SVT messages Upload and download installation parameter sets - archive and duplicate installation sets Perform long term monitoring of DCSS Operation for error root cause analysis Collect maintenance information DCSS remote control 18 Dcss 5 Pocket Book SET-UP MENU M33 When entering the set-up menu the following options are displayed. = Tnsi2=2 Id=3 Eng=4d Two profiles are available in the DCSS5 and they use two separate installation procedures (Instl1 and insti2). They are for use when installing a new operator. The Field parameters can be used to fine tune and adjust the operator after installation is complete; it contains parameters tor speed, time, torque and distance. The engineering parameters contain information, which very rarely requires changing once initially set. A list of all set-up parameters and their value range is shown in the FCM Service Tool Reference list and are listed from page 28 in this pocket book. Attention: To enter a new value or to run the Installation routine the DCSS must be in inspection mode, TCI set. An active stop signal or losing TC! will interrupt the automatic installation procedure. A parameter is only stored permanently in the memory when you exit the menu you are in, use one of the function keys (Module, Function or Set) to do this. Prior to a successful INST1 installation the DCSS5 operates in a reduced mode only e.g. the door will run using low speeds only. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE M331 The first time the DCSS is set into operation the DCSS must run an Installation routine to find the optimum system parameters for that specific door mechanism and the electrical environment. The complete ‘Installation Menu’ runs automatically led by prompts. Only a few confirmations have to be entered by the user to complete an installation. in order to simplify the installation the complete procedure is menu-driven and displayed on the Service Tool. The user only needs to follow the displayed instructions and has to confirm the questions. In the first step the DCSS5 asks for the declaration of the environment components and in a second step it executes an automatic learn run for the profile set 1. To run the SETUP Routine the system must be set to inspection mode (TC/ must be set). Before the instailation can start, the 3-Wire Interface has to be checked for incorrect wiring and malfunction. lf the main controller supports a second profile, the same instaliation procedure must be executed with Inst2 menu also. The environment configuration must be set before the Installation procedure can begin. Choose Config (1) to set this. 19 bcess.5 Pocket Book CONFIGURATION M3311 STEP 1: Declaration of the environment components: In the first step DCSS 5 asks for the declaration of the environment components. This routine consists of 5 elements. 1: Sense Test The DCSS tearns the phase rotation of the motor and the encoder. The DCSS tries to open or close the door. if the system does not detect within a certain time period a sufficient door movement it automatically reverses the direction. If there is no movement in both directions the torque will be increased and the test loop starts again. If with the maximum torque no door movement takes place the instailation routine aborts with the error message Sense Test Failed This message will be displayed on the screen Prep SenseTest The DCSSS5 is preparing to carry out Sense Test Please wait! 7 — Watch the door movement and answer the question. Door is ope ne > NO When the door is fully open its starts to close. This message will be displayed on the screen Please wait! = . is closed? Watch the door movement and answer the question. Door a <0> NO This message is displayed if the test fails: ‘Sense Test failed if the Automatic Installation Procedure fails at any time the procedure must be carried out again including the configuration. Do Config again: 22 DCSS 5 Pocket Book 2: Learn Doorway: DCSS5 will ask you to confirm that the door is fully closed. Inspect the door and ensure that the door and the lock are actually closed. After your confirmation the DCSS5 opens the door and memorises the received encoder pulses. When the DCSS detects a stopped i.e. doors fully opened, it asks to confirm that the door is actually fully open. The doors must be fully open before you press the confirm button otherwise door position errors may occur when in service Door is opened? YES <0>NO 3: Learn Creep Ways: The DCSS § learns the locking distance and the torque necessary to open and close the lock. First the door is moved into the fully closed position. Atter that, the Set-up routine starts the detection of the creep ways. It investigates to find the distance the car door has to move until the landing door is driven by the car door. This requires a couple of test runs where the DCSS closes and opens the door slowly. This procedure is able to find the optimum values for the following parameters: Open Creep Torque Start Open Dist Close Creep Dist Lock Distance Ini Start Open Dist Ini Close Creep Dis If the detected locking distance is not within the limits set the error message: Learn Creep Ways failed will be displayed LOCKING DISTANCE = 2% - 12% of door width. When the learned creep way is complete OCSS 5 moves to the next step: 23 Dcss 5 Pocket Book 4: Learn Inspection Torque’s: DCSS 5 opens the door using inspection speed and finds the minimum torque necessary to open the door completely. To verify the tracking behaviour is within a tolerable range, the test is repeated applying an increased torque value. All the creep torque’s as well as the close torque's are calculated from the inspection torque value. Insp. Torque Chk Please wait! When the learned torque is sufficient to open the door completely, the DCSS closes the door again and is ready for the next step. The procedure is complete when the door is fully closed and following display appears: Prepare Profiles Please wait! 5.Learn Forward Gain: The profile generator provides command values for the speed and the acceleration/deceleration. Due to the physical principals of an AC motor the requested acceleration/deceleration can be achieved only, by changing the commanded speed which is proportional to the acceleration/deceleration vaiues. This open loop forward torque control co-operates with the controlier parameters Forward Gain Up and Forward Gain Down. The DCSS operates fast door closings and observes the tracking behaviour during deceleration. It changes the Forward Gain Down factor as long as the desired tracking behaviour is achieved. Door is opening Please wait ! Then the system starts a closing test run observing the braking behaviour. If the braking distance is longer than calculated, the door opens again and starts another closing test run with modified control parameters. Forward Gain Check Please wait! This loop continues until the optimum control parameters are set. The procedure is finished if the following display appears; otherwise an error message will be displayed. Writing Gai Please wait DCSS 5 Pocket Book INSTALLATION ROUTINE 2 M332 If the main controller supports a second speed profile, the DCSS 5 has to perform an additional Installation Run for the second profile. The Installation routine 2 can only be carried out upon successful compietion of Installation routine 1. The procedure to determine the profile and torque parameters is the same as for the first profile, with the exception of not having to complete a configuration set-up as this has already been done. Consequently bypassing step 1 and 2 of the automatic installation run. SET DEFAULT M3319 This menu will allow you to reset every parameter to its original default setting. The field parameters allow you to adjust these profiles and set torque limits. A speed torque profile can be seen on the opposite page. The default setting is Profile Set 1. The second profile set is used only on elevator controiler request. Not all controliers are capable of operating two door profiles. The menu FIELD contains parameters that are applicable to both profile sets, which can be adjusted in order to obtain a door performance that will match the high expectations of our customers. For example, modifying opening and closing times, creep speeds etc. New parameter values are checked to a certain degree by the DCSS before it overwrites an old value. When a parameter is changed the new value is checked against the upper and lower tolerance limits. If the new parameter exceeds the upper limit, the max allowed value is set. The exampie below depicts what you might see when looking through the field parameters. On the display you can see which profile set the parameter applies to, the name of the parameter and its current value. They can be used to reduce excess Current or poor tracking behaviour by adjusting the response of the mechanics of the operator to the electrical system. They will also allow you to adjust the acceleration and the deceleration of the speed profiles. NOTE: The parameters listed below are applicable to both profiles. P14 or P2: 0... 100 | Gain factor of P-Controller P-Gain 300 Increasing the P-Gain parameter increases the closed loop impact. Incorrect adjustment can cause excessive current and/or poor tracking behaviour. PA or P2: 0...12 4° | Decreasing of the FeedUp-Gain FeedUp-Gain parameter results in a stronger and faster acceleration to compensate for any slip during acceleration. —- P41 or P2: 0.42 4 Decreasing of the FeedDown-Gain FeedDn-Gain Parameter results in a stronger and faster deceleration. * Set by automatic learn runs. 31 Dcss 5 OTHER PARAMETERS Pocket Book M3344 These parameters wilt allow you to set the maximum motor current and door width limits, adjust stopping and locking distances and speeds. The two parameters at the bottom of the list allow you to set the point at which the door reversal is disabled in both open and close cycles. maxMotorCurrent | 800... | mA Limit of maximum motor current. E= Error: Maintenance required: serious event, 39 pcss 5 Pocket Book FINE TUNING THE OPERATOR The automatic set-up together with well defined default parameters yield to an excellent door performance. However field experience shows that job-site specific conditions and customer expectation on door operation may require some fine-tuning measures, Stalled Door Protection Sensitivity Try to stop the car door manually and assess the stalled door operation. Enter menu 3- 3-4-4 and scroll to item PassProtLimit. Decrease the parameter in order to obtain increased sensitivity or set a higher value to prevent undesired reversals. Idle Torque’s In the fully open or fully closed position the motor has to provide sufficient torque, to keep the door(s) open or closed respectively. The following check can be carried out to check and adjust these torque’s. Enter menu 3-4-1 and perform a profile set 1 opening operation. As soon as the door is fully opened try to move the door in the closed direction. Enter menu 3-3-3-1 and scroll to item P1: Openidle Torque. Increase this parameter to achieve a higher motor torque. Please consider that high idle torque’s have an impact on the motor heating. Find a compromise guaranteeing to keep the door open with a minimum of motor heating. Now enter again menu 3-4-7 and execute a profile set 1 closing operation. Set the P1: Closeidie Torque under menu 3-3-3-1 in a similar manner. If the profile set 2 is being used, carry out the same procedure for the idle torque’s of this profile. You will find P2: Openidie Torque and the P2: Closeldie Torque under menu 3-3-3-2. Creep Torque’s The creep torque’s are learnt during the automatic set-up. However if the customer requires more force or less force during the creeping to fully open or fully closed enter menu 3-3-4-1 or menu 3-3-4-2 and modify the parameters Px: OpenCreepTorq or the Px:CloseCreepTorq. Ensure that with the new parameter settings the fully open and closed positions can still be reached. Reversal Stop Distance After detection of a reversal event the DCSS first stops the door. The distance necessary to stop the door can be adjusted entering menu 3-3-4-4 and scrolling to the item StopDistance. Short stop distances can cause a higher noise and vibration levet - find the optimum compromise. 40 Dcss 5 Pocket Book Locking Speed After the landing door is fully closed the final creeping of the car door or the closing of the lock can be done with a higher speed in order to shorten the time needed to contact the door close limit. The default value is equal to the Close Creep Speed. Enter menu 3-3-4-4 and scroll to list item Px: Lock Speed to modify the locking behaviour for profile set 1 or 2. If the door mechanism has a fixed vane you can skip the locking profile segment by setting the Px: Lock Distance to zero Opening and Closing Times Set the normal opening and closing times in milliseconds according to the customer specification. Enter Menu 3-3-1 and scroll to the items Px: OpenAunTime or Px: CloseRunTime to adjust these values. Attention: Ensure that the door closing time setting is within the EN81 regulations: The kinetic energy of the landing door and all mechanical elements to which it is rigidly connected (e.g. car door, linkage, gear, motor), calculated or measured’ at the average’ of the closing speed shail not exceed 10J. Note?: Measured using, for example, a device consisting of a graduated piston action on a spring with a spring constant of 25 N/em... Note2: The average closing speed of a sliding door is calculated over the whole travel less: 25 mm at each end of the travel for centre opening doors 50 mm at each end of the travel for side opening doors in order to verify the compliance with the EN81 use a spring gauge as described under note 1 and measure the kinetic force at three points 1/3, 1/2 way and 2/3 of the door close travel. Ensure that the average of the three readings is jess than 707 N, which is the equivalent to 10J. 4 DcCSS 5 — Pocket Book HIDDEN MENUS ACCESSING THE SET-UP MENU When key "3" is pressed in MODULE operation or when the "FUNCTION" key is pressed at ower layer of the hierarchy, the following menu is displayed: Monitor=1 Test =2 Tools = 4 The Set-up menu is not initially displayed and can only be seen by using the blue SHIFT key and key 7.
