PEER HELPER RECRUITMENT

The Teaching and Learning Centre (TLC), Career Guidance & Counselling
Section and Campus Clinic (both at SSD) invite senior students across all
faculties who wish to VOLUNTEER to be in the Peer Helping/Peer Educator
programme for the 2024 academic year.

DUTIES OF PEER HELPERS/EDUCATORS:


• To assist first-time entering students (FTENs) during the 2024
orientation week.
• To actively “coach” students in using computer programs during the
orientation week.
• To drive, help design, and monitor fun and helpful activities for the first-
time entering students.
• To provide ongoing intervention, referral, and follow-up with students
who encounter difficulty transitioning to UNIZULU.

• To assist their peers who may have problems, listen to fellow students
confidentially and make referrals to their supervisors.
• To partake in all awareness campaigns throughout the year.
• To advocate on mental health & sexual & reproductive health issues.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Senior /Postgrad students (Richards Bay) Applicants must be final year

• Good communication and report writing skills;
