Troubleshooting 5.1 Determining the location of failure It is possible to determine which side, sensor or transmitter, the cause of the failure is originated by temporarily connecting a normal electrode. Prepare a normal electrode. --- Prepare a normal electrode provided as a spare part for one year « Prepare an electrode of the same type as the one currently used. @Select maintenance mode. ~~ If the transmitter is in operating condition, set the transmitter to the maintenance mode. C= Instruction manual of the transmitter @Remove the electrode lead wires from the terminal block of the transmitter. -~-- Remove all of the electrode lead wires or the lead wires of sensor cable (when connector box is used) from the terminal block of the transmitter, C= Instruction manual of the transmitter @Connect a normal electrode instead. —---- Connect the lead wires of a normal electrode to the terminal block of the transmitter, making sure the numbers of core wires are connected to their corresponding terminals. C= Instruction manual of the transmitter ®Perform calibration. Perform calibration (in the case of ORP meter, check its performance using ORP standard solution). C= Instruction manual ofthe transmitter ®Determination. «Determine the failure as follows depending on the calibration result, ete ‘* When normal calibration was obtained «-~- Transmitter is normal. Therefore, the failure originates from a problem on the sensor side including the electrode. Take action referring to 5.2 Cause of Failure and Necessary Action”. ‘+ When normal calibration was not obtained » Transmitter is considered faulty, Take action referring to the instruction manual of the transmitter. Even if the transmitter returns to normal but still normal calibration cannot be obtained, itis presumed that the cause of failure originates from both sides of the transmitter and sensor. Take action referring to 5.2 “Cause of Failure and Necessary Action”.
