Cluster Management

Cluster management software maximizes the work that a cluster of computers can perform. A cluster
manager balances workload to reduce bottlenecks, monitors the health of the elements of the cluster, and
manages failover when an element fails.

The primary goal of cluster management is to ensure that the cluster is running optimally and
efficiently, and that resources are being used effectively to meet the needs of the applications
running on the cluster.

Types of Clustering

 Centroid-based Clustering.
 Density-based Clustering.
 Distribution-based Clustering.
 Hierarchical Clustering.

Clusters also often make it easier to measure and compare performances because local rivals share
general circumstances—for example, labor costs and local market access—and they perform similar
activities.

What is a cluster organization?

In a cluster organization, the principal work units are permanent and temporary teams of
individuals with complementary skills. Team members, who are often widely dispersed around
the globe, are greatly assisted in their work by the use of Web resources, corporate intranets, and
collaboration systems.

A cluster head is a node that gathers data from the cluster sensors and passes this data to the base
stations. A node in a cluster that is responsible for collecting data from the sensors in its cluster and relay
these data to the Base Station. The role of Cluster Head usually rotates between nodes in the cluster.
