ABSTRACT
This project aims to create a portable and efficient heart rate monitoring system using
readily available components and the Arduino Uno R3 SMD. The system incorporates a
Max30100 Pulse Oximeter, a small buzzer, an OLED display module, male-to-female
jumper wires, a mini breadboard, and a 9V battery for power supply. The project design
centers on the functionality of the Max30100 sensor to detect and measure heart rate and
blood oxygen levels.
The male-to-female jumper wires are used to establish connections between the various
components, enabling data transfer and power distribution. A small buzzer is integrated
into the system to provide audio alerts or notifications, ensuring user interaction and
timely alerts.
The Max30100 Pulse Oximeter serves as the primary sensor for measuring heart rate and
blood oxygen levels, providing accurate real-time data. This information is then displayed
on the OLED display module, offering a convenient visual interface for users to monitor
their vital signs.
The integration of an Arduino Uno R3 SMD serves as the central processing unit to
manage sensor data, control the display, and manage the system's overall functionality.
The 9V battery is utilized to power the system, ensuring portability and making it suitable
for various environments.
The resulting system presents an affordable, user-friendly, and portable heart rate
monitoring solution, suitable for personal health tracking or as an educational tool. The
development process involves sensor integration, data processing, and user-friendly
output, highlighting the potential for broader applications in healthcare, fitness, and
wellness industries.
COMPONETNS USED
2. Buzzer (Small)
The small buzzer in our project acts
as an acoustic feedback
mechanism, capable of producing
audible alerts or sound
notifications based on heart rate
data or specific conditions detected
by our monitoring system. For
instance, it can emit a beep or tone
when the heart rate surpasses a
predefined threshold.
3. MAX30100 Pulse Oximeter (Heart Rate Sensor Module)
The MAX30100 is the central
sensor module in our heart rate
monitoring system. It plays a
pivotal role in measuring heart
rate and blood oxygen levels.
This sensor module utilizes
photoplethysmography (PPG) to
detect changes in blood volume,
enabling us to monitor a user's
pulse and oxygen saturation in
real-time.
