Oerlikon Graziano strengthens its footprint in Russia

Moscow (Russia), June 17, 2008 – Oerlikon Graziano, part of the Drive Systems Segment,
confirms and strengthens its strategic presence in the off-highway market.
Due to the rapid expansion of this market, today also in CIS countries, Oerlikon Graziano
has taken the opportunity to have a footprint in Russia, too.
Starting from April 2008, Oerlikon Graziano jointly with Oerlikon Fairfield is operative with
its Office in Moscow, strengthening the relationship with Russian Customers.
Oerlikon Drive Systems is market leaders in the field of gears and gearing systems, with its
locations in Europe, Asia (India and China), North America and today in Russia pursuing its
growth in the new countries supporting its Customer everywhere.

High-tech solutions for eminent customer

Oerlikon Graziano is present at CTT Moscow, the most important construction equipment exhibition
in Russia, with one of its new generation of motor grader axle.

The product is assembled into the DZ 122 B JSC Dormash Orel motor grader machine. The GA15
axle tailored to achieve up to 17 tons machine operating weight has been developed with the
complete tandem box, which is utilizing the chain drive.

The axle is equipped with four wet disk brakes (WDB) directly connected to the wheels and No-Spin
differential lock.

This axle is part of a huge range from 10 to 21 tons machine operating weight, which is fully
answering the market needs.

Oerlikon Graziano is a global player in heavy axles for construction equipment, premium
agricultural tractors and a major provider of light axles for golf and utility vehicles. In the lift-truck,
utility and agricultural markets Oerlikon Graziano provides a line of power-shift gearboxes and
innovative transmissions. Oerlikon Graziano is leader in the gears and components for power
transmissions market. Cylindrical and bevel gears can even be specifically designed, if the
customer requires, and they lead the way in developing and manufacturing synchronizers and
clutch packs for every power-shuttle and power-shift agricultural and off-highway transmissions.

Products :

• the axles for articulated dump truck. The development, of the one axle in front and two in the
back, is fulfilling the requirements of the articulated dump truck up to 40 tons payload
capacity. The axles are equipped with wet disk brakes on the wheels and the rear axles
incorporate a through-drive differential with hydraulic engagement. The through-drive
differential on the back of the middle axle allows the propeller shaft of the rear axle to work
virtually with zero degrees. This new generation of axles is more reliable and less noisy;

• the PR 10 axle for wheeled loaders. This axle with wet disk brakes (WDB) is the smallest
offering in the line of wheeled loader axles which also include the PR12, 15 and 24. These
units can be combined to provide support for wheeled loaders with machine operating weight
from 11 to 24 tons;

• the crown wheel and pinion sets. Oerlikon Graziano is leader in the manufacturing of bevel
gears applying all the technologies available on the market, today. Gleason Coniflex and
Gleason Revacyle methods are used for straight bevel gears, while Gleason, Oerlikon and
Klingelnberg systems are used for spiral bevel and hypoid bevel sets. Dry cutting on Gleason
Phoenix machines as well as hard turning techniques are all utilised in production. Lapping
and grinding are used to finish parts when requested (UMC is available and applied on critical
ratios whether low noise emission is required). Oerlikon Graziano has been dispatching more
than half million sets every year since 2000;

• the synchroniser and the clutch pack units. Oerlikon Graziano produces more than 800.000
synchronisers for agricultural tractors, construction equipment, passenger cars and trucks. It
is also recognised as the world leader in synchronisers for agricultural tractor applications.
Oerlikon Graziano has the range from 62 till 138 mm dia and has developed single, double
and triple cone solutions: together with clutch pack units these will be fitted on the every
power-shuttle and power-shift agricultural and construction transmission.
