4. Student Workload

Aligned with the volume of learning requirements of the Australian Qualifications Framework one
AIB 10 credit point subject nominally involves 150 hours of study per subject. Study-related activities
may include independent study, interaction with staff and peers, reflection, application in the
workplace, assignment work and other.

7. Subject Summary

This subject examines the development, concepts, and significance of the concepts and practice of
Corporate Governance, and organisational governance within the context of organisational capacity
building.

8. Subject Purpose

Managers need to have a good understanding of the key issues and concepts relevant to the practice
of good corporate governance in order to be able to contribute to improving corporate
performance.

If any of the assessment items are not submitted, the final composite mark a student/candidate can
receive for the Subject will be capped at 50% (irrespective of their final assessment mark and grade).

11. Academic Integrity and Verbal Submissions

To support the academic integrity of AIB’s assessment, a random selection of submitted final
assignments in each Term require students to present a verbal summary and respond to several
questions. The student must verbally demonstrate sufficient knowledge to validate that the work is
their own. Students selected must attend the meeting with the Subject Coordinator (or nominee)
and those who do not attend will be awarded a zero for the assignment.
