1 Removal of modem in ALE catalog
From the MLV offer 2020 (April) the Multitech modem is not available anymore in the Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise
catalog. No other modem is qualified.
It will be up to the Business Partner to find an equipment equivalent to connect to the OXE.
In addition to that, the modem has been removed from the MODB board with a new reference:
 3EU23010ACJA: MODB BOARD WITHOUT MODEM EQUIPPED
The connection to the oxe & RMA must be changed to fit the board modification with an external
modem.

To help choosing a modem & make sure it fits the oxe needs some technical details are given below …
- some details about the v24 signals offered on different CPUs.
- a chapter to give the most important settings that have to be managed in the modem in order to work
with a v24 port of any oxe CPU.
- Some document references related to a modem connection behind an oxe CPU

3 Modem: main important commands for configuration (Hayes

commands)
By default, serial line on OXE cpus is 9600bds rate / 8N1
AT command to set that speed rate: AT&N6

Remove local echo:

AT command ATE0 (disable character local echo)
Disable result codes:
AT command ATQ1

To set the modem with no answer code (OK) and no echo character type the AT command: ATQ1E0&W0

AT&W0 stores current modem settings in nonvolatile memory.
