Volunteer Is One of Long
Volunteer Is One of Long
As many traditional Vietnamese families, mine has four people: me, my little brother and my
parents. My father is the breadwinner. He is a police officer, he makes money to support my
family. My mother used to be a shopkeeper but she has become a housewife after having us.
Everyday, my mom takes me and the younger brother to school then goes to the market, cooks
lunch and at 11 A.M she picks me up at my school. In evening, although my father is very busy
with his job, sometimes he helps my mom to pick me up after my extra class. Our brothers are
assigned the same chores. Our tasks are feeding fish, walking the dog, cleaning the desk and
doing the laundry in the weekend. Overall, I think that my mom is the one who has the most
burdens in my family. So recently, together we usually share the household chores with her. We
believe that sharing household chores is better than dividing it equally.
