FLOODS IN MAJALENGKA
Floods hit the houses of five famous villages in three sub-districts in Majalengka Regency,
West Java, Sunday (7/2). The flood was triggered by high rainfall, causing the Ciduwet River
to overflow.
The five villages that were hit by the flood were Sukamulya Village, Mekar Jaya Village, and
Bantarjati Village in Kertajati District. Kertajati Village in Ligung District, as well as Biawak
Village in Jati Tujuh District.
The cause of high intensity rain floods and the overflowing of the Ciduwet River, Situ
Cijingga, said the Manager of the Center for Disaster Management Operations Control
(Pusdalops PB) West Java BPBD Budi Budiman Wahyu in his statement, Monday (8/2).
In his report, the water level has not receded. In Sukamulya Village, the water level ranges
from 15 centimeters, Mekar Jaya Village 60 centimeters, Bantarjati Village 30 centimeters,
Kertasari Village 20 centimeters, and Biawak Village 30 centimeters.
