Talent Recruitment and Selection

GROUP ASSIGNMENT (CURRENT ISSUE) (20%)

Assignment Guidelines

Situation
The success and superior performance of a company depend on its ability to attract and
employ the most skilled personnel possible. The author argues that there is no
universally optimal strategy for identifying and recruiting top talent; rather, the optimum
approach must be tailored to each individual circumstance. Companies in developing
nations, in particular, will benefit from the performance, experience, and opportunity for
further learning that older workers bring to a competitive environment that changes
frequently and demands creativity, innovation, v and adaptation. Companies will need to
revise their management strategies to accommodate an ageing workforce as a result of
the recent demographic changes. Consequently, there is a rising understanding that
recruiting, by itself and apart from selection, is crucial not just for long-term competitive
advantage but also for the very survival of an organisation.
