Assessment 1 – In-class Quizzes

Assessment Type Quiz

Purpose To test student comprehension of readings and lecture


material; to test generic skills including critical analysis as
well as reading and interpretation of descriptive
statistics.

Description There will be six (6) quizzes that can be counted for marks
conducted at the end of workshops in Weeks 3, 4, 8, 10, 11 and
12. Each quiz must be completed in 10 minutes. The format will
normally be multi-choice questions to test student
comprehension and understanding of the readings and lecture
material for that topic or to test generic skills listed in the course
learning objectives. The maximum mark in each quiz is 5 marks
and only 4 quizzes will count. Students who complete more than
4 quizzes will receive the sum of the best 4 marks.

Weighting 20%

Length Ten (10) minutes x 6 Quizzes = 1 Hour Total


Students seeking to complete quizzes outside normal
class times will need to provide a completed Statutory
Declaration to support any special arrangements sought.

Due Date In workshops in Weeks 3, 4, 8, 10, 11, 12.

Submission Method Completed In-Class by face-to-face students and then


submitted as a Pdf. Offshore students and any students
subject to emerging Government Health Directions are
required to submit this assessment online during Virtual
Workshop Classes. Further instructions are available from the
Course Blackboard site.
