1. Discuss the basic principles and the major concept of Human Resource Development.

2. Explain the implications and consequences of Human Resource Development efforts
in an organization. (PLO11, A3)
3. Organize a training program through application of learned knowledge and
demonstrate practical skills in solving human resource management issues. (PLO3,
P5)
This course will provide a comprehensive overview of the human resource development field
which includes the roles of training and development in organizations, and the process of
strategic training and development to help an organization gain a competitive advantage.
Major topics include the training needs assessment process, the theories of learning and
transfer of training, the program design issues, and training evaluation which are used to
determine training effectiveness. Apart from that, this course will emphasize the different
types of training and development methods, and also the various approaches used to
develop employees. Contemporary issues such as legal issues, managing diversity and
inclusion, career challenges, as well as the future trends that influence training and
development will also be explored.
