INTRODUCTION
1. General
A. This equipment maintenance manual has been prepared in compliance with ATA
specification No100 by the AIR TRANSPORT ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA. Its
purpose is to describe the procedures, applied in the manufacturer'sshops to enable a
mechanic, unfamiliar with the equipment, to set it back to operating condition or
overhaul it. The operations described must be carried out in maintenance shops using
special took and test benches.
B. This manual does not cover standard techniques, maintenance intervals nor details
which are likely to vary depending on the shop facilities available.
2. Format
A. The page numbering system of the manual ctjnsists in using a page number block for
each section as follows. As concerns small basic items of equipment, more than one
section can be covered on the same page :
8. in general, all values are expressed in units of International Systems (meter, kilogram,
second) or multipks and sub-multiples of same. In some particular cases more
appropriate units are employed.
3. Revision
With each revision issued for the manual, detailed instructions are supplied cross-referring
to the page numbers concerned for insertion and deletion. The revised, added or deleted
material is indicated by the letter R printed in the margin.

3. Operatlon !Fig. 3 and 4)
The <<rotation= casing (1-720) fitted with the searchlight (l -10)is articulated using the
spindle (1-670), which rotates in the bearings (1-640) and (1-6801, and is held on the
one hand by the microswitch box (2-10) and on the other, by the ~~extensionw casing
(1-700).The screw of motor (1480) drives the spindle wheel (1-550) ; the pinion of this
spindle drives spindle (1-620) which meshes with the teeth of the curved rack (1-650)
fitted to the box (1-720).
A screw (1-370) stops the searchlight in the ccretractedn position. It is used as a stop
for the microswitch adapter and is secured in position by the Iock nut (1 -380).
The searchlight is stopped in the ((extended- position through the construction design,
the unit stopping against the bumper (1-690)and operating the ~(extendedh
microswjtch lever at the end of its travel.

B. Rotation movement
The pinion of motor (1 -430) drives the spindle wheel (1 -350)whose screw meshes with
the spindle wheel (1-210) ; this spindle, supported by bearings (1-2201,drives in rota-
tion the lamp housing (1-150) fitted at its end.
The reduction gear system is reversible according to the direction of rotation of the
motor (1-430). It can thus be directed either to the left or right.
The motor supply depends on to relays : R1 .rotation to the lefb and R2 {trotation to
the right,), whose field coil is directly controlled for each of the two functions.
The relay acts on the vetractedr, microswitch. Once this operation has been
completed, this microswitch controls the wotation to the right. relay.
At the end of the travel, the spring stop fitted on the spindle (1-210) operates the
wotationw microswitch adapter.
Switching optical block on and off is controlled by a <<lampsrelay (2-200) whose excita-
tion winding is commanded by terminal 2. + 28 V is supplied by terminal 3 and is
directed to unit 15-25-1through terminal 10.
The voltage supplied by unit 15-25-1 is applied to terminals l 1 and 12 to energize the .
searchlight.
The voltage is supplied to the mobile lamp housing (1-150) via optical bock spindle
(1-210) and of contact tabs (1-200)and (1-250).

INTRODUCTION
1. General
The Illustrated Parts List (IPL) is prepared in compliance with ATA 100. The IPL is
intended to identify all the components of the unit.
- Introduction.
- ListofCircuitSymbols(ifapplicable).
- Alphanumeric Index of Manufacturer'sPart Numbers.
The Detailed Parts List includes the nomenclature and illustrations of the unit components.
The figure number, covering items listed, is indicated on the first line at the top of each
page.
.Each part-numbered assembly, sub-assembly or item listed in the parts list is assigned
an item number followed by a letter identifying the variant. The basic variant is lettered
A.
Assemblies, sub-assemblies and parts listed, but not iilustrated, are identified by a
dash (-) preceding the corresponding item numbers.
A 4ettered indexn appearing before the item number is a cross reference to the illus-
tration of the variant called out from the corresponding main figure.
Each of the assemblies, sub-assemblies and detail parts, illustrated or not, is assigned
a manufacturer's part number.
k t h part numbers are listed in the Alphanumeric Index in their logical order ;the
actual overlength part number is cross-referenced to the assigned part number
preceded by the annotation (<SEE ...W.
C. Nomenclature
The nomenclature is intended to show the relationship between the parts listed, as
follows :

A vendor, code is indicated for all items or articles not made by the prime manufacturer
of the assembly.
This vendor code of the abbreviation 4 P = (non procurable) is placed at the extreme
right-hand side of the 1st line of the nomenclature.
When the applidbility is general, the usage code column is left blank.
The usage code corresponds to the figurelitem number of the next higher
assembly(ies) or sub-assernbly(ies). e.g., effectivity 1A, 1B, 1C is written 1 ABC.
The Units per Assy column shows the number of units required for the next higher
assembly.

When an item is modified, added or suppressed, the letter <(R*is written in front of it,
in the right margin (the issue date changes).
The letter ~ R appears
