3. Operatlon !Fig. 3 and 4)

A. Retraction and extension movement

The <<rotation= casing (1-720) fitted with the searchlight (l -10)is articulated using the
spindle (1-670), which rotates in the bearings (1-640) and (1-6801, and is held on the
one hand by the microswitch box (2-10) and on the other, by the ~~extensionw casing
(1-700).The screw of motor (1480) drives the spindle wheel (1-550) ; the pinion of this
spindle drives spindle (1-620) which meshes with the teeth of the curved rack (1-650)
fitted to the box (1-720).

f he reduction gear system is reversible, according to the direction of rotation of the

motor (1-480) ; the searchlight can thus be switched from the ~retracted~ to the
(cextendedw position.

The motor supply is governed by two relays : R3 wxtendedn and R4 aretracted,,,

whose excitation winding is controlled respectively by the corresponding .extended>,
and wetraded. terminals.

A screw (1-370) stops the searchlight in the ccretractedn position. It is used as a stop
for the microswitch adapter and is secured in position by the Iock nut (1 -380).

The searchlight is stopped in the ((extended- position through the construction design,
the unit stopping against the bumper (1-690)and operating the ~(extendedh
microswjtch lever at the end of its travel.

OVERHAUL MANUAL

B. Rotation movement

The pinion of motor (1 -430) drives the spindle wheel (1 -350)whose screw meshes with
the spindle wheel (1-210) ; this spindle, supported by bearings (1-2201,drives in rota-
tion the lamp housing (1-150) fitted at its end.

The reduction gear system is reversible according to the direction of rotation of the
motor (1-430). It can thus be directed either to the left or right.

The motor supply depends on to relays : R1 .rotation to the lefb and R2 {trotation to
the right,), whose field coil is directly controlled for each of the two functions.

The relay acts on the vetractedr, microswitch. Once this operation has been
completed, this microswitch controls the wotation to the right. relay.

At the end of the travel, the spring stop fitted on the spindle (1-210) operates the
wotationw microswitch adapter.

C. Lamp operation (Figure 4)

Switching optical block on and off is controlled by a <<lampsrelay (2-200) whose excita-
tion winding is commanded by terminal 2. + 28 V is supplied by terminal 3 and is
directed to unit 15-25-1through terminal 10.
The voltage supplied by unit 15-25-1 is applied to terminals l 1 and 12 to energize the .
searchlight.

The voltage is supplied to the mobile lamp housing (1-150) via optical bock spindle
(1-210) and of contact tabs (1-200)and (1-250).
