i. The contractor shall maintain a good access to the storage and working area. Empty
boxes, foil etc. shall be removed.
j. All items must be kept in closed containers and stored at temperature between +10 to
+30°C.
k. Keep materials away from all fire hazards and out of direct sunlight.
6) APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
a. A preliminary inspection has to be carried out in order to verify the following points:
b. The surface shall be sweep blasted using Garnet 30/60 grit in order to remove cement
slurry, oil releases and all other loose particles.
c. Residual moisture content of the concrete substrate must not exceed 4%. Analog meter
will be used to determine the sub residual moisture.
d. The surface has to be protected from any kind of moisture (condensation, fog,
precipitation or other water source).

e. During the installation works, the relative humidity and the substrate temperature indicate
on the data sheets will be taken as a reference. Therefore, the supervisors experienced in
installation of Steuler-KCH materials will have the final decision to control and decide if
the conditions will be suitable.
f. All the gaske ts and unwanted blasting areas to be covered and protected from blasting.
All surfaces shall receive a sweep blasting before start of lining applications. After blasting
concrete surfaces shall be cleaned by means of using a brush, respectively vacuum cleaner.

Properties: Furadur Cements are two-component resin cements specifically designed for
bedding and jointing acid-resistant ceramic split tiles and brick linings as well as carbon bricks
or tiles. Furadur Cements cure at normal ambient temperatures without subsequent heat
treatment. To attain a better resistance to solvents, subsequent heat treatment is, however,
recommended.
Furadur Cements display resistance to acids, alkalis, solvents, greases and oils as well as
conditiona l resistance to oxidizing agents.

Instructions:
Bedding:
App ly the Furadur Cements to the substrate or, particularly when lining vertical surfaces, to the
bricks or tiles to be laid. The thickness of the bed should be at least 4 mm but no more than 10
mm. Where a thicker bed is necessary, first trowel-apply a layer of cement to the substrate. The
thickness of this layer must not exceed 10 mm. A total bed thickness of 15 mm. max. is
permissible.
Jointing:
Then smooth the material before it has had a chance to cure using a jointer. Joints should have a
minimum width of 4 mm (ideal is 6 - 8 mm). The joints between the fields are closed after
termination of the first curing phase (usually after 1-2 days). Therefore, there will be no effect on
site progress.

CONCRETE INSPECTION: For the inspection of the concrete surface will be taken as a
reference the form sheet 010 (requirements for concrete structures and cement–based surfaces to
be protected by acid-resistant linings ).
CLIMATIC CONTROL: For the control climatic data, 3 manual measurements per day at the
working area of the ambient temperature and the relative humidity will be taken.

8) REPAIR WORK
For small patch repairs, less than 50 cm², the concerned areas shall be ground to the substrate and
beveled as much as possible at the borders by means of using a right angle grinder with rough
grind ing discs. Remove dust and re-apply as per the original instructions. Make sure areas for
overlap are properly beveled and primed. Allow the lining to cure and retest the repaired area.
