PREFACE ‘Owing to the emphasis in recent years on vocabulary learning, this series is an attempt to build the pupil's vocabulary learning. In language learning, it is an ability to deduce the meaning of o word. Meaning con, of course, be derived from a dictionary, or on. illustration. It can also be deduced from the context in which the word occurs. This series therefore attempts to train students to deduce meaning There are six books altogether in this series for Primary classes !-6. Each book consists of 50-120 Worksheets with ten questions each. A key is alo included. The author has been most mindful of the choice of words, word frequency, range of vocabulary and sentence structures. Care has also been taken to ensure that for the lower levels, the sentence structures used are within the grasp of the pupils; while for the upper levels, more complex structures os found in daily usage are introduced gradually. Students using these books should find vocabulary learning both stimulating ond enjoyable. Not only will the exercises test the pupils’ knowledge of words, but they will induce them to search for those words that they do not know. Teachers will find that, results can be ‘Gchieved in vocabulary training through the regular and systematic use of these books over a period with the pupils.
