ASEAN Digital Empowerment
ASEAN Foundation, with the support from SAP, launched the ASEAN Digital Empowerment
(ASEAN DE). The programme provides free access to an online learning platform
(https://learninghub.sap.com/next-gen) and SAP certification examination for underserved
youths to learn essential skills for them to be able to strive and compete in the labour market.
The platform provides varying courses aligned with the crucial skills as referred by the World
Economic Forum (WEF) including, but not limited to 1) Human experience management; 2)
Business Intelligence; 3) Data Science; 4) Software development; 5) Computer sciences; 6)
Design Thinking and Business Model Innovation, and many other courses covering a broad
scope of career paths.

SAP partners with various companies worldwide, such as Google, IBM, HP, and WTA, to
support youths through their platform. Hence, youths registering for the platform will
probably have a higher employment opportunity at those supporting companies. Along with
providing learning platforms, this initiative also provides youths with peer collaboration,
guidance from SAP experts, and a certification programme. To date, SAP offers more than 150
certifications exams in 9 languages from the associate to the professional level. Certification
is proven beneficial to drive career growth and earn potential, as stated in a recent study by
the Pearson Value of IT Certification (VUE).

Through this initiative, the ASEAN Foundation and SAP provide free access to the platform for
up to 1,000 underserved youths aged 18 to 30. Therefore, all selected youths will gain access
to learning materials to prepare for a professional SAP Global Certification – increasing
youths' career opportunities and potential in the global job market.

Courses
All participants must complete 1 course and take a certification examination offered by the
ASEAN Foundation and SAP at SAP Learning Hub platform at
https://learninghub.sap.com/next-gen. All participants must commit to complete all
classes/units learning in selected course.

You can learn other courses provided for free (see course list below), but please be noted that
free certification is only for 1 certification examination.

It is a self-paced learning. Thus, you can adjust your learning journey according to your
schedule in 6 months (including certification examination) from July to mid-December 2022.

The courses categories comprise Business Technology Platform; CRM & Customer Experience;
ERP and Finance; HR & People Engagement; Intelligent Enterprise; and Supply Chain
Management. There are 17 courses (+ 1 introductory to SAP Learning Hub) that you can
choose as follows.

Don’t know which SAP Learning Journey to pick?

If you are not studying in a cohort with your professor/instructor, it may be difficult to figure
out which journey to follow. We recommend the SAP S/4HANA – Scope and Business
Processes learning journey for anyone who wants a generalist approach to SAP.

The “become competent” section of the learning journey provides a certification course that
allows you to get an overview and general understanding of the business processes that make
enterprises run and how SAP manages them. This is a great certification for anyone looking
to start their SAP career.

Accessing SAP Learning Hub
Your email address has been given accessed to SAP Learning Hub, edition for SAP Next-Gen,
so you can directly sign up at https://learninghub.sap.com/next-gen.
Step 1. Write your email address, tick-boxes on SAP Learning Hub privacy statement and
General Terms and Conditions for SAP Learning Hub, and click “Check Eligibility”

Step 2. As we have given you the access, you will be identified as eligible. Then, click “Register
Now” button.

Step 3. You will be directed to the registration page as follows.

Step 4. If you have registered, you will receive an email notification. Click “click here to
accept”

Step 5. You will be directed to SAP Learning Hub page and you have successfully registered.

Step 6. Log in to your account. And it’s time to start studying with a SAP Learning Journey!

Monitoring & Evaluation
The ASEAN Foundation will carry out regular monitoring to check your progress and ensure
you completing entire learning journey and certification programme. The ASEAN Foundation
will send you an email one to twice a month with a survey link. Thus, we urge your active
participation to fill the survey link.

Step by step for learners:

1. Sign up to the SAP Learning Hub, edition for SAP Next-Gen (Unless learner is
already a subscriber, then they can skip this step).
2. To claim learner's free certification - Go to https://training.sap.com/redeem
3. Certification Activation is a document that provides a step-by-step instruction
how to redeem the code for a certification attempt.
4. Once learners have successfully claimed their certification attempt, they will
need to book the certification timeslot to avoid missing out on a suitable
timeslot before 31 December 2022.
5. After successful redemption of the activation code, learners will receive a
booking confirmation from SAP within two business days.
6. Log on to https://training.sap.com/ After the confirmation of learner’s status,
verify their account and proceed as described here:
https://training.sap.com/help-center/faq/how-to-access-and-use-sap-
training-subscriptions#accesscert

Important to note:

 When claiming the free certification, learners need to ensure that they use
the same email address they used when registering for the SAP Learning Hub,
edition for SAP Next-Gen .
 The activation code is available to claim as soon as they receive it, and it is
encouraged that they redeem the certification exam attempt as soon as
possible + book their certification slot, to ensure that they do not miss out
on available time slots.
 The time slots available for this offer to sit the certification is limited to a 6-
month duration, and effective from 1 July to 31 December 2022
 Note that the confirmation of a successful registration can take up to two days.
