If the receiver 1s moved or placed in a different direction, or, a coloured patch appears on the screen, the main power switch must he switched ta the off position for 120minutes or the power cord must be unpluged ior the same interval to allow the automatic degauss circuits to eperate properly. For safety, the receiver should be switched off from the main power switch when it is unattended. > Magnetic fields can cause your television to maltunction. To avoid having too many buttons on the remote cantral however, the other functions ean be selected by displaying one of tivo menus: @ Television menu © VCR menu The television menu contains four options and is displaved by pressing MENU (=). AUTO, PAL Choosing Your Language When you start using your television for the first time, vou must select the language in which the various menus and indications are displayed. "1 | Storing the Stations Automatically You can scan the frequency ranges available on your television and in your country and store all the stations found automatically. If vou have a dual tuner model, the stations are stored for both tuners at the same time (television and VCR). The stations are stored in the order in which they appear in the frequency bands. It is possible that the automatically allocated programme numbers may not correspond to those by which you i wish to identity the stations. If you have a dual tuner model, the stations are stored for both tuners at the same time (television and VCR). When storing stations manually, you can choose: © Whether or not to store each of the stations found The programme number by which you wish to identify each stored station © To-enter the frequency of the station to he stored directly, if you know it You have about 30 seconds to make each selection described helow. Reduce the volume. Adjusting the Picture Quality during Playback This set has an inbuilt tape alignment system (A.TRK) that selects the optimum position for the tape automaticaly. It, however, noise bars (streaks) appear at the top or bottom of the picture during playback (particularly in slow motion), you can adjust the alignment of the image tu ubtain the best possible picture. Picture stability can he adjusted more easily in the Pause and Slow Motion modes.
