The God of the Bible is the God of today!

We consider some of the miracles that God did in and for homes and families and
encourage us to look to God for the breakthrough miracles we need today in our own
homes and families!

JOSEPH AND THE GREAT FAMILY REUNION

Recount the story of Joseph and his family Genesis chapters 37 to 50.
The problem of favoritism (Genesis 37:3)
Jealousy – and attempted murder (Genesis 37:4,11,18-20)
Sold as a slave - gone but not gone.
Joseph was able to forgive his brothers and do them good. Only God can heal a
wounded heart and a broken life.
The family reunited. Healing happens where forgiveness and mercy flows.

REBEKAH AND CHILDREN IN THE FAMILY

Genesis 25:21
Now Isaac pleaded with the LORD for his wife, because she was barren; and the LORD
granted his plea, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

Exodus 23:25-26
25 "So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your
water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.
26 No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of
your days.

Psalm 113:9
He grants the barren woman a home, Like a joyful mother of children. Praise the
LORD!

God can open wombs, heal reproductive problems and bless homes with children, even
today.

THE WIDOW AND HER CANCELLED DEBT

Recount this story.

2 Kings 4:1-7

God can work in our homes and personal financial situations and bring about a miracle.
Sometimes His work happens suddenly. Sometimes His work happens gradually over
time. We do our part and God does His.

JABEZ AND BREAKING FAMILY CONSTRAINTS

1 Chronicles 4:9-10
9 Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother called his name
Jabez, saying, "Because I bore him in pain."
10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, "Oh, that You would bless me indeed,
and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep
me from evil, that I may not cause pain!" So God granted him what he requested.

Regardless of what your family has spoken about you, the words they may have spoken
over you, the limitations they have set on your life – God can take you past all of those
things.

JOB AND RESTORING LOSSES, REVERSING SITUATIONS

Job 42:10,12
10 And the LORD restored Job's losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the
LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.
12 Now the LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning;

Satan attempted to destroy Job’s faith in God through all the calamities and adversities
he brought on Job. Job stood through it all. And God turned everything around for Job
restoring more than what he had lost.

Satan the adversary, steals, kills and destroys. But our God is still at work today turning
things around.

LIFE GROUP STUDY GUIDE

The Christian Home and Family (Part-4)

Breakthrough Miracles

The is a simple guide for use in Life Group discussions. Our objective is to focus on the
application of the Sunday sermon - how each one is becoming a doer of the Word and
building their life on God's Holy Word. The Life Group meeting would normally last for 2
hours. Each Life Group would have up to 12-15 people.

Preparation
To prepare for the Life Group meeting, you can listen to the Sermon Key Points (sermon
summary in five minutes) or the full-length Sunday sermon. You can also review the
Sunday Sermon notes. All these are available in the "All Peoples Church Bangalore"
mobile App or online at our sermons page. Pray for the Life Group meeting and invite
the work and ministry of the Holy Spirit.

Welcome
The Life Group meeting may commence with a time of prayer, worship, and a fun
activity.

LISTEN to God's Word

Read the following Scripture references: 2 Kings 4:1-7; 1 Chronicles 4:9-10; Job 42:10,12

INVESTIGATE God's Word Together

Please discuss a few of these together, giving time for people to share their insights. We
encourage each one individually to make notes of their personal learning during the
Group discussion.

A, Review some of the miracles we read from God’s Word, and discuss how God can do
similar miracles in our life situations, our homes and families. Pray for each other’s
homes and families.

If time permits, each one can take a few (3 minutes max) to share one or two key
learning and how they see themselves applying it into their specific life situations.
Encourage each one to participate and share.

FELLOWSHIP by sharing your life and spiritual journey

Each one takes a few (3 minutes max) to share anything from their walk with God,
something God has been teaching them, a testimony of answered prayer or a specific
challenge that they would like prayer for. Encourage each one to participate and share.

ENCOURAGE each other by praying and ministering to one another

Get into small groups of two or three and take turns to thank God and pray for each
other in the light of what was learnt today. Listen to the Holy Spirit. Expect the gifts of
the Holy Spirit to flow bringing healing, releasing miracles, prophecy, etc.

Regroup and pray together for:

1, families to be protected and strengthened
2, a mighty outpouring of God's Holy Spirit on us as a church and through us to bless
many others in our city and nation. Nothing but a mighty work of God's Spirit can change
our city and nation.
3, for the BUILD TO IMPACT project - for God's hand to guide us through the land search
and acquisition process, and for finances to be more than enough to get this project
done.

Close by thanking God together.

SERMON OUTLINE
In this sermon we review some of the miracles God did in homes and families, healing
broken hearts, restoring family relationships, canceling debts, breaking free from
constraints, and turning situations around. The God of the Bible is the God of today. He
will still work similar miracles for our homes and families. Let’s expect something good
to happen to our homes!
