Using written input to negotiate: Agony aunt

Dear Belle,
My boss keeps inviting me to participate in various sporting activities with him,
such as playing golf and squash. I am quite good at the sports and enjoy them.
However, it is affecting my relationship with my wife. The time that we would
usually spend together is now devoted to keeping my boss happy. I don’t know what
decision to make. Should I refuse my boss and risk my promotion, or should I
continue with golf and squash and risk my marriage?

Problem solving

A teacher sees a student cheating in an examination. He is the student who produces

the student newspaper. He is a good student, but because of his outside work his
marks have not been very high. If he gets to law school he will probably become a
very great lawyer. What should the teacher do?

1 Pretend not to see the cheating.

2 Quietly ask him to stop cheating.
3 Tell the class that someone has been cheating and if it happensagain that person
will be sent out.
4 Send the student out of the room and tell the class the reason.
5 Do the same as (4) but also tell the head of the school so that the student is forced
to leave the school.

Strip story

In the morning I get up at 7 o’clock. I have a shower and eat my breakfast. After
breakfast, I do the dishes. I leave home at 8 o’clock and catch the bus to class. In the
evening, my jobs are to help cook dinner and do the dishes. After dinner, I watch TV.
I go to bed at about 11 o’clock.
