SYSTEMS
Systems ▪ Primer : one layer primer using one of the proposed solutions below will
be sufficient in case of non porous substrates :
1. Sikafloor 94 ( A+B ) with consumption 150 - 200 gm/m2
2. Sikafloor 161 ( A+B ) with consumption 200 - 250 gm/m2
3. Sikafloor 161 ( A+B+C ) as a scratch layer with consumption 300 gm/m2
where component C is a fine filler
4. Sikafloor 92EG diluted 10% solvent as a self priming with consumption
200 gm/m2
The primer should be left to achieve a tack-free condition before applying
the top coats . A second layer of primer may be required if the substrate is
excessively porous .
▪ Putty : to seal the concrete surface and closing the pin holes , minor
cracks on the floor substrate using Sikafloor 92EG added to fine filler with
consumption approx 100 - 150 gm/m²/ layer depending on substrate
conditions. Maybe a second putty layer be required based on the surface
need .
▪ Coating: 2 X Sikafloor® -92 EG (comp. A+B) with consumption 200 - 250
gm/m2/layer
A slip resistant finish can also be achieved by evenly spreading Sikadur Ag-
gregates on the wet applied first coat of Sikafloor 92EG where it is still
tacky .

different systems
2. SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
Concrete substrates must be mechanically prepared using abrasive blast cleaning to remove cement laitance, existing
coatings and achieve a gripping profile that is clean, dry and free from laitance, dirt, grease, oil and any other form of surface
contamination. Vacuum blasting or similar techniques are ideally suited. High spots must be removed by e.g. grinding.
All dust, loose and friable material must be completely removed from all surfaces before application of the product,
preferably by vacuum.
Sikafloor®-161
Sikafloor® -161 is two-part, solvent free epoxy resin binder for priming,
levelling mortars and screeds
Sikafloor® -92 EG
SIKAFLOOR®-92 EG is a two-part, solvent free, low VOC emission,
economic, solvent-free coloured epoxy resin
4. Built-up section
4.1 Smooth Finish Coating System for Parking Areas:
Moisture Content
• Substrate moisture content should be < 4% pbw
• If found above, Sikafloor® EpoCem® may be applied as a T.M.B. (temporary
moisture barrier) system.
Air Humidity
• Relative air humidity max. 80%.
• Beware of condensation. The substrate must be at least 3°C above dew point.
Procedure Equipment
Clean substrate
The surface must be clean, dry and free of all contaminants, e.g. dirt, oils,
grease, coatings and surface treatments, etc.
Surface defects
Substrate defects, such as cracks, blow holes and voids must be repaired
using appropriate products from the SikaTop®, Sika® MonoTop®, Sikafloor®,
Sikadur® or Sikagard® range.
The selected method of preparation will depend on the surface condition, environmental constraints and
availability of services. The method may be selected on the basis of trial areas, approved by the Contract
Administrator.

6.2 APPLICATION OF SIKAFLOOR®-161 AS A PRIMER
Make sure, that all substrate requirements are met, such as temperature, moisture content of the prepared
substrate etc. (please refer to section 5). Apply Sikafloor®-161, if the moisture content is below 4%, (test method:
Sika-Tramex, or CM-measurement or Oven-dry-method; no rising moisture according to ASTM (Polyethylene-
sheet)). If the moisture content is above 4%, apply Sikafloor® EpoCem® system as a temporary moisture barrier –
please refer to the PDS).
Apply the mixed material by roller, taking care to ensure good wetting of the substrate but avoiding puddles on the
surface. Work within the pot life of the material (15 minutes at 30°C).
Apply by brush, roller or squeegee and work well into the substrate.
Use the Consumption as given in the System Build up above
Clean all tools and application equipment with SikaThinner C immediately after use.
Hardened / cured material can only be removed mechanically.
7 SIKAFLOOR®-92 EG
7.1 MIXING
Stir separately components A and B of Sikafloor®-92 EG well with an electric mixer.
Then add the full contents of Component B into Component A and mix with a slow speed mixer (300 - 400 rpm) for
at least 2 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is achieved.
Place mixed material into a clean container and mix again shortly (1 minute). Over mixing must be avoided to
minimize air entrainment.
Mixing
Low speed electric stirrer (300 - 400 rpm).
9.3 PRECAUTIONS
If you will now be placing equipment, storage racking, goods, furniture, filing cabinets etc. on the floor, then
every effort should be taken to minimise surface scratching and marking.
Dragging of heavy articles across the flooring may damage the surface.
Fork lift trucks should be driven with care to avoid marking caused by wheel spin or slide.
9.6 REMEMBER
Initial clean before use.
Take care when installing equipment etc.
Sacrificial polish if required.
Regular cleaning with the right product and equipment where necessary.
Clean up spillages.
And your Sikafloor® will give you years of hard wear and still look good.
