Today’s intention

Introduce you to the concept of inquiry and learning and how the
Indigenous Innovation Initiative is using it to support innovation
by and for First Nation, Inuit and Metis Peoples in Canada
Indigenous Innovation Initiative

Our vision is to improve all life through Indigenous innovation

Seed (proof of concept) grants of up to $250,000 to develop and test bold ideas that
offer sustainable solutions to community challenges

Round 1 innovations are advancing Indigenous gender equality in: sustainable


beauty, sustainable aviation, food sovereignty and sustainability, advancing MMIWG2S+
calls for justice, high-performance construction, pre- and post-natal health, impact
investing, regenerative economic development, media production

Re-conceptualizing M&E

Instead of retrofitting Western approaches to monitoring and


evaluation, we have engaged in the knowledge-based empowerment
of co-creating a ground-up approach that is rooted in the context of
innovation by and for First Nation, Inuit and Metis Peoples
Inquiry and Learning Bundle

A responsive, iterative and innovator-centric model that integrates


simultaneous creation and application of Knowledges into every
step of the innovation cycle and that focuses utility on community
