Awarding and implementing EPCI#2 contract of Block B gas field development project

In Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group Branch - Phu Quoc Petroleum Operating Company
(PQPOC) has just organized the awarding and implementation of EPCI#2 contract (engineering,
procurement, construction, installation of hub platform/wellhead platform, intrafield pipeline system) of
the Block B gas field development project for PTSC Mechanical and Construction Limited Company
(PTSC M&C).

Block B - O Mon is a large-scale gas power project chain in Vietnam. The project chain includes: Block B
field development project (upstream), Block B - O Mon pipeline project (midstream) and 4 O Mon gas
power plants (downstream).

EPCI #2 is an important package in the upstream part, contributing to shaping important milestones of the
Block B gas project, including the milestone of receiving the first gas flow (First Gas).

The contract package includes the main components: four Hub platforms/Wellhead Platforms with a total
volume of nearly 15,000 tons and three 20-inch intra-field pipelines, one 8-inch pipeline, with a total
length of nearly 50 km.
Previously (October 30, 2023 in Hanoi) EPCI#1 package (engineering, construction, installation of
central technology rig cluster, housing for Block B field development project), which was worth
approximately $1.1 billion, was awarded to the McDermott and PTSC Joint Venture.

Block B - O Mon gas and power project chain, with an expected gas exploitation output of 5.06 billion
m3/year (in the stable period), supplying 4 O Mon thermal power plants in Can Tho with total installed
capacity of nearly 4,000 MW, plays a very important role in the strategy of balancing supply and demand,
ensuring national energy security, energy conversion and economic and social development.

The project once put into operation will make a major contribution to the State budget (revenue at the
upstream stage alone is more than 20 billion USD/23 years of operation), bringing profits and investment
efficiency for investors, promoting economic and social development in the Mekong Delta region,
especially in Ca Mau, Kien Giang and Can Tho, creating many jobs for the workforce in the oil and gas
industry and in the region./.
