contributing to it. When a health problem occurs, the costs for the medical services are
directed to those in need. When a health problem occurs, it is important that the common
fund may bear the necessary expenses. This is why it is important that the insurance is
used in a responsible manner, for the benefit of each person from the insured group.
This guide helps you to better understand the way in which your private health insurance
works, the way in which you may access the services in the shortest time and the steps
that you need to take so as to benefit from the best medical care options, whenever
necessary.

You can always find comprehensive information on your insurance package at the
SIGNAL IDUNA Call Center.
Choose from over 1300 clinics and hospitals, partners in the network Mediqa Net and
access the medical services without having to pay.
Choose any other medical center outside Mediqa Net, pay the medical service and
SIGNAL IDUNA will reimburse the cost according to the insurance contract.
• for two or more consultations on the same day for one or more ailments/signs/
symptoms, an appointment with a doctor of internal medicine or general medicine is
required, unless there are already medical recommendations for these consultations.
• for more than two consultations within two weeks, for the same ailments/signs/
symptoms, only the first specialist consultation will be covered by insurance; any
other subsequent consultations for the same condition/symptomology can be
covered by insurance only if they are recommended by the doctor who performed
the first consultation.

IMPORTANT:
For the medical services which are not covered by the insurance
plan, pay their cost to the provider
For medical services outside the Mediqa Net network, the authorization and appointment
of the medical services by the SIGNAL IDUNA Call Center is not necessary. This is why
you have to pay at the clinic. Subsequently, SIGNAL IDUNA reimburses a percentage of
the invoice’s value released by the clinic, according to the insurance contract and to the
documents sent.
Mandatory documents:
• the reimbursement form with complete and correct data
• all medical documents issued by the medical institution*) with the information filled
in correctly (identification data of the insured, reasons for consultation, objective
examination, definite or presumptive diagnosis, medical recommendations, results
analyzes and investigations, the discharge ticket - with the date of hospitalization
and the date of discharge, date of performed medical service or issued medical
document, initial and doctor’s signature or medical provider’s stamp)
• the financial report and/or the invoice (if it was issued by the supplier) with the
individual presentation of each service accessed and the related cost
• proof of payment containing the identification data of the issuer, the medical services,
the related amounts paid and the date of issue (fiscal slip/receipt issued by supplier)
Remember...
• verification and approval of the reimbursement file becomes faster when documents
are photographed or scanned individually and clearly and sent in JPG, PNG or PDF
format, by e-mail or by applying Signal Care Assistant
• the POS receipt cannot replace the tax receipt or receipt issued by the medical
provider and thus is not a valid proof of payment.
• After we receive your reimbursement request for the value of the services performed
and paid, we will analyze the submitted file to ensure that it meets the conditions
necessary for validation. We’ll keep you updated on the status of the analysis on
everything you own, via SMS or email. For additional information, you can contact us

After obtaining pre-approval, SIGNAL IDUNA will transfer the amount of the insurance
contract to your Easy Pay card. Any other additional and unauthorized costs will be borne
from own funds.

To have final approval for payment, you must submit to the Insurer the medical documents
issued by the medical service provider, after the performance pre-approved medical
services, within two working days, at the email address: rambursare@suportsanatate.ro
or through the Signal Care Assistant application.
Medical documents must contain the following information: identification data of the
insured person, the reason for the consultation, the history of the current illness, the
complete diagnosis, the date of the medical service, the doctor’s signature and initials,
the results of medical investigations. If the documents are not sent within a maximum of
30 days from performing medical services, the possibility of accessing medical services
using the card Easy Pay will be restricted until they are sent.
